I saw the picture with a different measurements is that realistic? Like if you have the driver seat set for the average American sized driver and you pull down the rear seat is 6ft realistic?

Right now I have a Toyota Tacoma short bed I would like to trade it in or sell it for something with better gas mileage but still able to do a little bit of off-road. When I go off-road I almost always fill up the majority of the 5 foot bed so I’d like to have that much space or more in my next vehicle.

I dropped my Little Giant ladder in the back the other day with no sweat and space to spare. I think it is a tad under 6' folded. I also carried a whole pallet. It's not 48" between the wheel wells but it was enough for that.
You're probably talking about a really old thread (2020-2021?) with dimensions all over the car that someone measured? Yeah, they did a good job with that. I used that guide while I was still shopping. It's accurate.

I’ve only had my BS for about 1000 miles and no off-road use as yet. I’d say the 6 foot length is pretty close, for interior cargo length, with the seats folded down.

I’m only about 5’9 so haven’t tried folding the rear seats down with the front seats all the way back, but would guess it’s do-able with tear seat headrests removed? I’ll see if I can try this later today.

I haven’t loaded mine to the max capacity as yet either but would guess that the stated mileage would suffer a bit.

I’m current averaging 28 mpg in fairly easy rural driving with some highway use.

I wouldn’t expect to see but maybe 23/24 mpg fully loaded up and going off-road, but that’s just a guess.

I’m sure other, longtime owners will chime in with more detail. Whatever you decide, good luck

If you really like the truck bed you'll be disappointed with the BS I fear. It depends on what you're filling up the bed with when you go off-road. You might be better suited to look at a Maverick if you haven't already.

I can say, yes you can have 6' of usable space in the back of the bs, I know this cause I was looking into a small mattress to fit in the back but wanted to make sure I fit first, I am 6'1 and I was able to lay down in the back of the bs with my feet on the inside of the tailgate and my head didn't touch the driver seat (I didn't move the seat after I got out of it) you will need to remove the rear seat headrests because the seat won't fold with them in place

Love my Badlands Sport. Usable space in the back is not on my list of strengths. However everything is relative - I would recommend you go to a dealer with any BSport on the lot, open up the tailgate and see for yourself in person. Put the second row seats down, see what it looks like, try out the tiny "glass" opening option for the tailgate and decide if that would be useful, etc.

A twin size air mattress will fit. I'm 6.1, sleep in there during camping a couple of times, although closing the trunk from the inside can be a little tricky. Also used as delivery car when the van wasn't available at work, I was surprise the by the amount of boxes that fix back there.

Width: 38 ÂĽ "

I did a drive out of state to another Ikea to pick this up.
I did internal measurements and this box just fit into the cavity.
no seat movement needed.

As an aside, wow, that's one skinny parking space. How did you get back in the car...?

Camping stuff, rifle cases, folding table, spare tire, from the pics it looks like it would work OK.

My budget is ~50k and my two ideas were either a used raptor which would get me the offroad performance I want or a new/used SUV and then a side by side for offroad. So practical daily driver that gets good MPG and a weekend offroader.

I didn't like most of the little SUVs but the Badlands felt better because it has 260hp and AWD so thats why I was looking at it. Plus they say it has more offroad ready shocks and bumpstops from th factory.

I have the BL I average about 23/24 loaded or empty I pull a small trailer for camping brings me down to about 19mpg. Off roading truly depends how challenging and if going up steep hills

Don’t understand why BS owners, as a whole, seem to be all over the map with regard to MPG. I don’t drive particularly aggressively but I don’t try and hyper-mile the thing either (if that’s even possible ?).

totally get it if it’s the 2.0 motor but even the 1.5’s seem to be all over the lot with mileage.
