Well it happened again for me as well.

I came to work this morning, it was still dark when I parked. I came in and relieved my co-worker etc... he left about 15 minutes later. After a few moments later he called me to let me know the lights were all on, head lights, tail lights, instrument panel etc... it took me about 5 minutes to get down to the Bronco, and sure enough they were all on. I know they were off when I came in and this was now about 25 minutes later.

Using the key-fob I locked the vehicle again but the lights remained on. I had to open the vehicle and physically turn the automatic lights to the off position to get them to actually go out.
It used to happen to me too. Try changing the DLS lights delay. I have mine off.

Yeah - I did that previously, and I thought it may have worked, but alas it did not. :(
i think I have recognized this happening when I lock the door with the handle hash marks before my passengers finish closing theirs.

I haven’t tested this theory, but I am convinced it is some software bug about the order of operations shutting down the car, getting out and locking with various methods.

I do SQA as a job…so... Not interested in taking the time to figure out. I just make sure they are off and relook if not LOL.

Try going in the settings menu and turn off the timer delay on the DLRs. They should turn off automatically after turning off and exiting the vehicle. Worked for me for the few times it happened when I first purchased the BS. Haven't stayed on since ??
I done this and it fixed the problem right away!

It's not really a solution because the point of the delay is to have the lights stay on while you walk from your car to your home at night. So by setting the delay to 0, you are removing that feature which kind of stinks. I have to bring mine in to get it looked at. Ugh.

Why not leave the car unlocked while the lights are on, then when comfortably closer to the house you lock the vehicle? This is what I do at night. But then again, Im like 9 ft awy from my front door when parking in my driveway. I wouldn't want to do that when I'm half a parking lot away say in an apartment complex. ?ā€ā™‚

This isn't a solution for a broken feature. The solution is for Ford to fix the broken feature.

It most certainly is NOT a solution at all, I agree with you there. The inconsistency of the software is easily remedied.

Adding to the mystery. Dec 2021 badlands. Prior to today only issue was in middle of trip last Fall after gas stop information screen failed to come up. Two restarts of car and it came back. Today after short drive when I parked in garage after turning car off and parking brake set and gear selector in park when i removed seat belt the reminder charm started. Didn't think much about is as it stopped. An hour later noticed driving lights on (they were set to off in car) and the drivers dash screen (tach, speed, etc) was still on. Restarted car twice and it finally turned off the screen.

More software work to do Ford.

My advice - always carry a jump box with this car. Clearly modes where engine is off, but screens still lit up for hours.

I still haven’t figured it out. It does it occasionally and have to do the exact same thing. I’m going to try to adjust the time (as rec

I will try this! It’s just weird because the lights at one point were on for over an hour before I noticed. I always have to open and shit the door again to turn off…and it’s only occasionally.
I love the typo. ??

You can unlock by putting your hand in the handle as well
I turned this feature off, at least for now. The key fob must be within a certain distance for it to work, but my concern is this. If Iā€˜m sitting at a stop light, can anyone walk up and unlock and open the door? The key fob is within the cabin or the vehicle would not be running. I don’t want to be surprised by someone trying to jack my vehicle or anything else. I plan to check this out when I’m around friends, but have not had the opportunity as yet. Any thoughts?

I had this exact same thought. From my understanding if the key fob is in the car, you can't open it. Needs some testing on this lol.

I seriously doubt though that if the system is active in any mode outside of park it would function to open the doors. So sitting a stop light with the power on, I doubt it would. But I wouldn't quote me on it.

I know this is an old thread but I recently bought a First Edition. I noticed the DRLs stay lit long after the lights went out (set to 120 seconds).

After seeing this post it set the delay to 20 seconds and everything turned off as it should. It seems my issue is on the longer delay. I have 6 weeks remaining on the basic warranty so I'm debating if I should bother having it looked at.
