  1. Ford leads in 2022 - Most recalls

Same here with one of the first BL produced, but very low mileage use so far. For people who might only read the headline this article has a lot of surprising facts. 20% of all Fords manufactured in 2022 had a recall. And here is how Ford compared to two other high recall companies: Ford...
  2. Ford leads in 2022 - Most recalls

No, it's not just you who has had BS recall. For 2022 Ford leads in recalls by over 5 million over next highest recall company ! This is really sad. Carmaker With Most Recalled Cars in 2022 Beat All Others by Far (msn.com)
  3. Question about secure idle / police idle for dogs being transported

I have this in 21 BSBL and it fits nicely behind the front sets. Back sets can then be either up or down depending on how much room your dog needs to roam around. One issue may be "do-gooders" calling police for leaving dog in car unattended - happens to a friend of mine on a regular basis...
  4. Alignment/steering issue unresolved

  5. Jeep Hood Bump Stops- Bronco Sport Tiedowns or Trail Alignment

I agree with other posters regarding hood - I have early 2021 BS BL. Not ideal, but on BL you have a tow hook on each side that could be a tie down - if you can minimize rope rubbing on bumper or hood. Otherwise getting full size Bronco is the real solution.
  6. Auto start/stop impacted by window?

From the video it seems like the calculation of battery charge is also based on the history of the battery in which case a one time charge may not average out the state of charge calculation enough. After delivery of my 21 BS BL I had an eye problem and couldn't drive for 4 months except to...
  7. Auto start/stop impacted by window?

Check out this post and video just before yours. Wish it was as simple as the window ! Interesting Video on Battery Management System | 2021+ Ford Bronco Sport Forum - Broncosportforum.com
  8. Ford BMS Battery Monitoring System: How it Works, How to Properly Charge, How to Power Accessories

Interesting. Compared to my previous 2013 BMW X1, my early production 2021 BS BL battery is about a third the size and not AGM. Makes you wonder if Ford is saving space/money using lower capacity batteries and using this technique to compensate. My BMW always activated start stop even on...
  9. Fan Speed Control: automatic fan speed reduction feature during voice sessions

Regarding the manual instructions, the more you read the more things you will find that are not only incorrect for your model Bronco Sport, but don't apply to any Bronco Sport - they are typically for Ford Escape models. My favorite is telling people where to put the key fob for a starting when...
  10. Undercarriage deflector panel took damage off-road

I have early production run Badlands 2021. They never came with passenger side panel, only drivers side.
  11. How to turn off the headlight fans

Maybe in Germany, but my 2021 Badlands still runs fans and opening a door starts a whole cycle events with ignition and climate always off. I don't drive car in winter for weeks at a time and no battery issues - car automatically powers down when it senses lower battery. I actually run the car...
  12. Cleaning a "foggy" window

Friends Mother in Law did the green scrubber on hood of his pickup truck to remove bird droppings. Good clear coat remover ! Always test any technique in a small area - especially if you have no idea what you are doing ! First time I used clay bar on windshield that's how I checked to be sure...
  13. Cleaning a "foggy" window

Try a clay bar. Normally these are used for removing particulates from car finish, but I have had good results using the technique on windshields. No need for a mechanical polisher - just do by hand. Just be sure to keep the area you work on moist with the solution provided in the clay bar...
  14. Oil change (BL) with pics of undercarriage

For skinny people without access to a jack - I just slid a box with a piece of wood under the badlands shield. Loosed rear and removed front bolts and dropped shield onto the box, Pushed it out of the way and continued on to change oil and filter. To re-install shield slid box back...
  15. What's Changed on the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport

Nice. Fewer basic functions and more premium features. Way to go Ford !
  16. Part of headlight staying on

Adding to the mystery. Dec 2021 badlands. Prior to today only issue was in middle of trip last Fall after gas stop information screen failed to come up. Two restarts of car and it came back. Today after short drive when I parked in garage after turning car off and parking brake set and gear...
  17. Screen black and no radio or back up camera

Yes - in middle of a 3 day 2000 mile trip. Restarted car and screen came up. No problems since. Buried in forum there are other discussions of screen not coming up. Typical solution seems to be reboot screen.
  18. 1st Oil Change on Badlands

Good post to follow when changing oil. All I would add is no need to jack up car and I used a cardboard box and board to hold up the Badlands cover plate so I could just slide it out of the way - easier to re-install. Although it is for maverick, this report on 2L engine is probably applicable...
  19. Fiber underbody protector

Depends in part on how you value fuel line components. Look underneath it if you have your car or on line pictures, including this forum. Tip off is fuel door is on that same side. More plumbing down low than is probably ideal. There is a reason the Badlands models have it covered on drivers...
  20. Hood shaking at speed - what Mitsubishi did

Besides the rubber bumpers there can be an issue with the position of the latch itself. Aluminum hoods certainly have less mass than steel so not a big surprise the "drop to latch" method doesn't work. Watch enough car repair shows on motor week and you'll see adjusting hoods is back and...
