I am not glad to see that others are noticing this issue as well. I have the exact same issues in the exact same locations.

Same boat… Just picked it up from the dealership today after it was at the body shop for a week. Told it was good to go, arrived to find they had disassembled the front end and repainted those areas. It was already peeling again! Noticed bumper trim wasn’t lined up like it was. Different gaps all over! Body shop also, chipped my hood, scratched my hood, scuff my A-pillar, and left som residue on hood/fenders that I can’t seem to remover. Dealer understood my distain for the work performed. Sent me away with the car and is now contacting the big hoss to see if there’s a better solution, aka creating a gap.

-Also, noticing random chips throughout the paint on my BL, which the body shop touched up with a paint pen that doesn’t seem to match all that well.

- Has anyone been in contact with a dealer who created a gap to prevent the rubbing?

This is pretty concerning. Im still waiting for mine to have a set production date, but I do hope they iron out this QC issues before I get my BL. I had a vehicle in the past with chips in it and after years of not addressing it, the paint just deteriorated and the weather elements got under the paint and well.... I was lucky to get a good trade in value when I did.

dealer told me today I must have used my snow brush and scrapped along the trim causing the damage I’m having, pathetic service, seriously considering taking a loss and just getting rid of mine. I’ve had 4 big problems in 3 months

Our cyber orange paint is very good so far, Dec. delivery. Our car was a "lot rot" so the paint had plenty of time to cure. The whole car has been great so far.
I have some paint experience restoring cars and it looks to me like the sealer coat is not being cured properly before the color coat is applied. This makes the paint chip easily until it finally cures months later. Just a guess on my part.

Not a thread you like to stumble on, glad I did though and have another area to inspect at delivery - at some point. At first thought it was just going to be chips on body. The chips around light assemblies look to be fit / assembly related. So thanks to the OP and others that have contributed.

Overall chips are another issue and every time I wash my current vehicle I find new chips, hood, A-pillar, entire side. And that's with full running boards, good size splash guards and stock size tires. You can partly thank the super thin water-based paint vs the old lacquer or enamel paint systems, just doesn't have the same durability. Environment and weight, I get it. I won't get into the vehicles with 3 or 4 inches of tire outside the fender wells on the road, that like to graze the shoulder. And while we all like the more aggressive tread tires - they hold larger stone.

According to my dealership they will fix the paint bubbles and the chip under the headlight but said they looked in fords database and haven't found any complaints about the hood of the car or the one by the tail light so they can't fix those. I have never had this many issues with a vehicle or a dealership in my life

Ouch - sorry to hear. Maybe FoMoCo watching this thread can give you an assist.

Went to pick up a vehicle from a Dealer / Salesman I had been dealing with for years, after the call it's in and ready for pick up. They knew I was particular. Scratch down the pass side from headlight to tail light on a 6ft bed CC F150, was a long scratch. The best part was the dent in the lower rt front door at a bodyline. They are a hi-volume dealer, maybe I'd have a shorter wait, better chance at quicker BSBL delivery.... but sorry, took my business elsewhere.

Good luck, hope you, and others here get acceptable resolution.

I think others have seen serious chipping in this same area. It seems suspiciously close to the wiper assembly. How soon did you start seeing this damage? Has it gotten worse?

I wish this surprised me. My Ford Focus SE had paint peeling on the bottom of the hatch after 4 years. My Focus ST had it peeling off where the two bumpers meet the metal panels (on the metal), had it fixed under warranty initially, Just yesterday I noticed one of them has peeled off again.

I was really thinking that by now Ford would have sorted out their shitty paint, or primer issues by now, but seeing these issues makes me think it could be my Focus ST all over again with paint flaking off after months, while other brands look great after 5 years. It makes me seriously consider cancelling my Bronco Sport order - but there's very few comparable options out there to the Badlands, and Mechanically, my Focus ST has been virtually flawless coming up on 140,000KM. (87,000 miles)

I think it's partly a symptom of newer paint products, or possibly even paint manufacturer problems, which makes paint seem fragile on newer cars. I first started having issues with my '06 Dodge Cummins. Our '12 Focus wasn't too bad but still had some minor issues around the hatch and had a ton of rock chips on the front.

Just today I read GM is getting hit with a class action suit over paint problems stemming all the way back to 2015 up until 2019, although the suit alleges bad application rather than the products themselves.
