Anyone have any insight? Read through all the evap threads, my canister is fine, my fuel economy is fine (27mpg-ish), I'm about to clean the fuel tank neck just to make sure it's nothing in there. Just bought 2021 Outer Banks BS from a dealer as is, and naturally a week after we drive it this code comes up and diagnostic history shows it was cleared prior to sale. Looking under the vehicle I see no points of impact in the cheap fabric shield, just looking for somewhere to start vice just clearing the code and waiting to see what happens.

The EVAP purge valve is actually a common failure on the 2.3 Mustang. Don't ask me why. But on the 2.3 forum, people are constantly replacing them because they get stuck open. I even had to do mine.

Mine has popped up 3 times over last several weeks. I have 61k on my 22 OBX. Does not run bad, no change in mpg. I have reset it each time and doesn't come back on for a thousand miles. I think it is something sporadic Bd correct Ms itself right away. I'll keep an eye on it. No physical damage anywhere so could be the gas tank capless system or a valve that sticks.

Thanks for this. I'll have to make some calls and see what the dealership says. My only concern is we signed an "As is" document absolving them of warranties.

"As is" doesn't necessarily mean a dealer can sell you a defective car. Check the laws in your State. Most have a "merchantability" clause that says they can't sell you a car with a defect unless they tell you what the defect is.

Good morning. Can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to see what I can do to assist with your fuel concerns.

Just an FYI, when filling up especially with no fuel cap Fords, when the nozzle clicks stop. Don't try to get that extra .5 gallon in there. This can be a major cause of EVAP failure.

FORD - Please tell us if this is covered under the 36,000 mile warranty for us new car buyers. Yes or no would be greatly appreciated.

This appears to be the canister. The shrink tubing also appears you have to buy the entire harness to go with the solenoid. Can you cut this tubing and use the ends. It appears there is enough room to just add a solenoid or can we add a short piece of flexible hose and clamp it. Ideas? Part looks to be $150 online with all the hoses and $9 bucks for aftermarket solenoid only.
