It was replaced back in April 2024. I did see there’s a customer satisfaction program regarding this issue. I will contact the dealership and see what they say. Thanks for letting me know!
So it’s been almost a week and a couple hundred miles later since I added Lubegard Instant Shudder Fixx and I’d say it’s mostly remedied my issues. Next thing I’ll do is change the transmission fluid and add another 2oz stick.
2021 1.5L 81k+ miles. Nothing to really complain about so far. Few recalls done. Early on I had park brake cable replaced due to rattling. Around 50-60k miles catalytic converter cracked. Everything replaced under warranty. I do add a bit of coolant once a year but water pump hasn’t failed me...
Yes, that’s exactly what my vehicle does. It’s done it since new and honestly hasn’t gotten worse over time nor has the drivability really changed. Just really trying to see if this will become a big problem later on. I planned on keeping the vehicle forever but not sure if it’s worth paying it...
I wanted to revisit this video I posted years ago. Is this the transmission “shudder” torque converter issue people have been talking about? I’m at 80k miles and vehicle still does it till this day. RPMS are jumpy when I blip the throttle or on cruise control. I have not done a transmission...
I have this same intake but on the 1.5L. Great intake. Made a difference not only noise but throttle response as well. I thought it was worth the money.
Wow that’s crazy. Sorry to hear that. I’m creeping up on 70k miles. It is quite concerning to see so many posts on transmission related issues. If that were to happen to me I honestly wouldn’t drop that kind of money. I would get rid of the car in a heart beat.
Almost 3 years of ownership and nearly 70k miles later. 1.5L has been fairly reliable. No major problems besides a few recalls and very minor issues. Only thing I’ve replaced has been the EFB battery to an AGM.
Make sure you are using the recommended 91 octane per the manufacturer for best performance. If that still doesn’t do it for you try installing a k&n washable air filter. The filter alone made a noticeable difference for me before even before installing an aFe Power cold air intake.
That was a different engine and it was discussed

We didn’t get the dragon engine in the US till 2020 I believe.
2017 Ford Escape 1.5 is not the same engine used in the Bronco Sport. That one was an I-4 and this new 1.5L is a 3 cylinder. Dragon engine has been around in Europe since 2018. I haven’t really seen any issues regarding the dragon engine. If anything I’ve heard more issues about the transmission...
You’re probably better off going with Rough Country lift struts. Not sure if Badlands struts are that much of an improvement over yours and the springs only give you like half an inch of lift.
