What is the height measurement under the shelf? I am interested in organizers but thinking of a couple of cubes as opposed to one long one.
With a 245 spare tire under the floor, I’m measuring 9-3/8” from the floor to the underside of the cargo management shelf.

I fixed the Amazon link in my post, but here it is again.

Awesome, thanks! My build date is next week (fingers crossed) so starting to put a list of items together.

Phone Charger - Console Mount

I order a Quad Lock charging mount a couple weeks back on a Black Friday deal. I already had the case with the magnets, so it made sense to get a charger for the BS. The built-in QI charger seems to be hit/miss for actually getting a charge, especially with anything but the thinnest of phone cases.

I’m not a fan of having the phone hanging around on the dash, or in this case from a vent. So, I came up with a different place to keep it, the console. I ordered one of the console trays months ago.

I started by applying some knock-off dynamatt to the underside of the tray to deaden any sounds of items I might put in the tray. The tray comes with some rubber pieces that lay in the bottom of the sections, but I wanted something more.

In that picture above you can also see how the mount is attached. I had a little metal plate in my garage collection, which I cut into a “dog bone” shape using the Dremel. That allowed the little hook on the Quad Lock vent mount to reach through and grab it. Obviously I had to drill a pretty big hole in the bottom of the tray (a step drill works well here) and cut a similar hole in the rubber pad for that section of the tray. Here is a close up of the dog bone piece and the hook from the vent mount.

I had to put a couple washers under the dog bone to get enough height for the hook to tighten everything in place. I glued those washers and the dog bone in place.

Once installed it gives a very nice “out of the way” spot for my phone to be when I’m driving. The only issue is remembering to grab the phone when I get out.

I have a wireless Carplay adapter to play music and get directions (when needed). The phone stays pretty well charged with my 30 minute (each way) commute. Now what else will end up in this console tray?

I just wanted to check in and see if you finished off the lettering on the grill. I have the same cactus grey as well and the white letter are terrible.

Thanks in advance

Understand, I like the direction you're going in and it really looks like it'll be the key to getting those ugly huge letters off the front to a much more classier look.

Track Width

I really wanted to have a more aggressive stance. I didn’t want the tires to stick out but I don’t like the “fake bolt” fender flares. Luckily Air Design has nice clean fender flare set. This flare set looks very “stock”, which I like.

The 245 tire on a 30mm offset wheel sticks out just a little. When a 1” spacer is added, the tire really sticks out. Maybe something that some others would like. Adding the fender flares, brings it back to about flush. To me, this is perfect.

The decrease in wheel offset from 38mm to 30mm moves the outside surface of the tire out by 8mm (about 5/16”).

The increase in tire width from 225mm to 245mm means another 10mm (about 3/8”) of the tire pushing out, and also the same amount pushing in.

Meanderthal, love the 1" spacer, where did you find it?

I hope that was a typo and you meant 245/65/17.

I was thinking the same thing (on the typo) Meanderthal, but I know you are the man with the plan, so figured I would let you have it.

Based on what I believe you've said, as long as he isn't running spacers he should be good at 245's.

265/65 TOYOS
Of course you are free to do whatever you want. I will only warn that a spacer will reduce the width of tire that can be used without rubbing. A lift does not change whether or not a particular tire size will rub on the BS. A 265/65/17 tire is wider but also bigger in diameter. I have a smaller diameter and narrower tire than what you plan to put on and I have rubbing with a spacer.

That is all I will say.
