How long after having your oil changed (took mine 3 days ago to my local Ford dealership) will the OIL LIFE update in my Ford Pass App? Is there anything that I need to do? I assumed that after the dealership service department finished it would automatically update???

If you’re referring to the oil life on the status screen in FordPass I think it’s kinda’ “iffy”. Sometimes my oil life estimate shows up, but most times it’s just a blank screen.

Mine was accurate and worked as I watched it go down in the last 10 months. It was at 11% when I took it in so I was expecting it to say 100% ... but it still says 11% so it didn't update.

Hmmm. I thought this had to be manually reset once the oil change was performed. If your dealer performed the oil change, they should have reset it.

Check your owners manual.

Check to see the what the oil life % is on your dash.
If the dealer didn't reset it on you BS it wont update in the app.

Well ... didn't know I could access the info via the dash ... how? I always rely on my app. Thanks.

Use the up/down arrows on the right side of steering wheel to get to the information display that has a picture of a bronco sport showing on your display.
Press the button on the right of the up/down toggle. It looks like 3 lines stacked on top of each other.
This will bring you to a menu that will give you the option to select oil life/tire pressure....
Select the oil life by using up/down, once highlighted press "ok" butting which is pushing in on the up/down toggle.
This will show you your oil life. You can also reset it from this screen.

Thanks ... will go check it out. My guess is that the dealership didn't reset it or my app is slow on updating. Thanks again.

Piss poor service if they didn't. That's a given. I guess the 18 year old newby, doesn't have a clue.

Did you check the oil level before and after the service?

Some oil change places (even dealers) short the refill by 1/2 quart or more, thinking the customer will never know. It adds a bunch of profit for them. They count on most customers never checking their oil level for months, if ever.

Some newby techs assigned to the oil change rack will keep adding oil until the level reaches the top of the dipstick because they don't know any better, and they think they're helping. This is bad, too.

The dipstick should read somewhere in between the bottom hole and the top hole. It's NOT a precision instrument and there are a lot of variables, so there's a lot of tolerance.
