Most likely it's the same part. The suffix indicates a minor design change or a vendor change. If you order one, make sure it's returnable, just in case.
Did you check the oil level before and after the service?
Some oil change places (even dealers) short the refill by 1/2 quart or more, thinking the customer will never know. It adds a bunch of profit for them. They count on most customers never checking their oil level for months, if ever...
Sounds like the dealer is trying to short oil change customers by a 1/2 quart. If they do a lot of oil changes that adds up to lotsa free profit $$$$$. Probably thinking they'll never get caught because who checks the oil level after an oil change? You, that's who. (And probably every...
Maybe your dipstick is too short?
I know it sounds crazy. The dipstick is not a precision part and, considering all of the individual pieces that go into a dipstick assembly, and all of the machined reference points on an engine, (all of which have variability in production) it is actually...
Not a bad idea, CPRCUBED!
One of those on each side would be really cool……in two ways.
Thanks for replying.
Kinda nice to have a chuckle over an aggravating situation.
The warranty is only good if parts are available to complete the repair.
My a/c compressor just failed at 2 years/19,000 miles and NO replacement parts are anywhere to be had.
Ha Ha Ha Ha! Perfect! Except I could only go 100 feet because that's the longest extension cord I have. But at least I'd be cool. LOL
Thanks for responding and brining a bit of laughter to this HOT issue.
The A/C suddenly failed on my 2021 BSBL at 19,000 miles. It's still under warranty. The dealer diagnosed a failed compressor and "special ordered" a new one. Unfortunately, they said it was on backorder, no other dealers were willing to sell one if they had any, and no estimate on timing. I...

Yes. That’s it. Just lift up on the end attached to the lever, which is the left side in your pic. It just snaps off and on. I used a little screwdriver to gently pry it off. Noise will be gone.
Awww, Man, I didn't know. Fumbling through the menu is, as you say, tedious. That sucks.
Why the heck would they eliminate that switch on some models?
When you want (or need) to turn off Traction Control, you want to do it right NOW.....not 16 keystrokes on the touch screen from now...
FWIW: There is a button to turn off traction control. It's on the center console, left-rear of the four switches surrounding the rotary GOAT Mode selector. At least that's the way it is on my Badlands, don't know for sure about other models.
Thanks, Tom, for taking the lead on this and keeping us informed. The 21020 update really made me angry and frustrated last May, especially the Travel Link issues. I'm looking forward to your updates.
FYI: when I finally went the USB route on 21020, I didn't get a .xml file, either. Not sure...
It looks like the front wheels are turned slightly to the left, which turns on the driver side fog light as cornering assistance. As the dealer would say: "That's normal" LOL
I have also had some really good experiences selling used cars to Carvana, and I'm a big fan of the way they do things. Selling a used vehicle to them is, as you say, absolutely no hassle at all.
Thanks for sharing your story.
kbroderick: this is just slightly off topic, but just for info, the BS (at least my Badlands) comes with an "Auto Hold" button on the center console. When activated, every time you stop, you can take your foot off the brake pedal and Auto Stop keeps the brakes applied until you press on the...
My opinion is that the start-stop feature is a gimmick to improve calculated fuel economy on the EPA Urban Drive Cycle (the standard test drive cycle to determine tailpipe emissions and fuel economy) to improve the Corporate Average Fuel Economy number for automakers. Idle in drive is...
I know. It sucks. Nothing in life is worse that having your expectations dashed.
The following isn't going to make it any easier to swallow. Sorry about that.
Not to defend Ford or anything, but, quoting Larry Potterfied: "That's the way it is"
After 45+ years of A/X/Z Plan experience as...
Fabulous pics and story. Very inspiring. I'll be headed that way in September and hope to (at least) attempt Imogene.
What tires do you have on your Badlands? I still have the stock 225 Pirelli Scorpions right now, but may upgrade before my trip.
Thanks for sharing!!!
Very True!
However, the TPM doesn't care about the age of the tire. At 10 years of age, a vehicle could be on it's second, third or even fourth set of tires with the original TPM. It's best to change out the TPMs at 5 to 7 years during a regular tire change, and only pay once for mounting...
