I have a 2021 BL. Currently it's running BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires sized LT245/65R17 . They're near the end of their life. They are great except the car is REALLY loud with them- louder than any trucks or other vehicles I've been in with offroad tires. Is this a BS thing? If not, any recommendations on other offroad tires that might be any quieter we could put on in their place? I was looking at tires but they don't have ratings that I can see for road noise. I found few reddit forums listing tires but curious what this community has to say about it.
I really like the Falken Wildpeak A/T 3's on my 23 BS BL. Overall the vehicle is quiter than my VW, but I think that has to do with sound dampening in the BS. I don't find the tires to be loud and they are great both on and off-road.

You want knobby "look at me tires" on your ride, there are concessions to be made. Road hum is one of them. Your choices are limited. Either scale back on the aggressive look or turn up the radio.

That's as succinctly stated as the whole argument can be.

There is one remaining option everyone's overlooking: two sets of tires/wheels. One set for daily driving/mall runs, the other for camping/trail riding/SHTF.

When I test drove my 2024 BS Outer Banks, I noticed it was much louder than my 2015 RAM Cummins 4x4 long bed that had really aggressive mud tires on it. It came with Michelin Primacy AS tires which are shit off road.

We have the BF Goodrich Trail Terrain T/A's on our 21 BS/BB & on our 05 F150 2WD. I do not notice any road noise on either vehicle.

After seeing YouTube reviews on the Falken Wildpeak AT Trail tires, which mention very low or no road noise, I may consider a 235/65-17 set. What I don't like is the tire is 11 lbs heavier than the stock Pirellis. The AT3s are $50 a tire cheaper and are 6 lbs heavier, but they are louder on the highway. I don't go off road and am going for the look.

I am on my 2nd set of 235 65 17 Trail Terrains. They are quiet on road and for me have offered excellent traction off road in desert dry conditions ,gravel , rocks, sand, and snow. I haven't been in much muddy conditions, so can't comment on that. When these wear out I plan to buy a 3rd set.

I have Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my 2024 BS OBX. They’re aggressive but pretty quiet too. I have about 6000 miles on them, and I’ve been very happy with them. I mainly commute on the freeway but I’ve taken them on some moderate off-road trails as well.
