He deserved the death penalty back in 1995. The murder rate went way up when the courts decided to eliminate it.

I truly hate OJ and what he represented; which was basically an absolute shirking of the judicial system. But I do have an interesting 'anecdote' about him, in his post-murder life, here in Miami. I wanted to let this thread marinate a little bit and make sure it didn't turn into polarized death threads....lol

It seems safe enough so....

OJ ended up moving to Florida afterwards to take advantage of our Homestead exception law. Essentially, creditors and/or people you are legally bound to owe money to, can NEVER take away your primary home in Florida. He actually moved to an area called 'Killian' which is adjacent to where I grew up.

Obviously, after you murder your wife, your going to be hard up to get fed by a good woman. He would frequent all the bar/grills and steak houses in that area. I'm not talking about white gloves and linen ... more like 'roadhouse' style chain places. I think one of them was a Tony Romas and another was a STeak and Ale if that means anything to any of you.

I knew a handful people that worked at these restaurants that had the 'pleasure/displeasure' of serving him. Apparently, he would always be very charming and put his best foot forward. I guess that makes sense, since no one wants to "sh!t where they eat", both literally and symbolically, as these were local places in the same neighborhood where he lived and where his youngest kids would end up going to high school.

So he would always be yukking it with the servers and bartenders. A common joke was that they would not bring him his knife for his steak, or they would bring it out afterwards, or whatever. But the common punchline joke heard among the restaurant visitors and staff, would be:

"Where the hell is my knife, they never bring me my knife....why the hell could that be", with a big sh!t eating grin across his face, while the handful of people there as his wannabee 'entourage' would all chuckle or laugh.

This 'joke' was played out dozens of times, to my knowledge. ?

I'll never understand why everyone was so hyper concerned for these 2 murdered individuals when we have murdered individuals all over the country/world every day of every year. Particularly here in the United States. In fact, you can murder people right here in New York and cut their bodies up- get picked up and be released without bail.
One takeaway on this whole thing could very well be that the selectively sanctimonious may just be most likely to vote for Progressives.

He got away with murdering two individuals early in their life.

For that, he is scum, and worthless. Sure, there are others, and they too should never be remembered for what they did if they took lives of innocent people.

When Aaron Hernandez (UF football player) went to jail for murder, all his college football records were removed from the University of Florida's athletics. This was the right thing to do.
