You have the 2.0L. I'd feel fine if I had it. I had an MKC and Corsair with the 2.0L and loved it.
I went to NJ from SC and back with it and it ran fine. I just never owned a vehicle and I've owned many, where I worry about a breakdown as many here have experienced. I like everything about the BS but the engine. It's a terrible feeling.
My Bronco Sport OBX has been completely problem free

What is the logic in padding Ford's pockets ($$$) for an extended warranty? Why would anybody "pre-pay repairs" as accepting lack of quality? Its a great way for Ford or (any other company) to make mega bucks praying on people's "what if" emotions.

Instead of giving your hard earned money away to Ford (or any other company) for an extended warranty, instead, self-insure by putting away a few bucks per week in an envelope for contingencies. I've saved thousands this way and when an emergency comes up, I have the cash.
And when the touchscreen electronics go, and you're looking at $1800 repair bill, you would have been happy to have the warranty. That $50 you put aside every month ain't cutting it.

Everyone has differing opinions on extended warranties. Modern automobiles are not even close to resembling the simple cars of 30-40 years ago. You can't repair electronics or the computers which run the entire vehicle, or in many cases even find aftermarket. On a recent Jeep lease buy-out, I purchased a warranty and within a month of getting it, saved the equivalent of two years worth of warranty payments when the sky roof failed and was covered.

I've also driven BMWs for years. There is no way in hell anyone should ever own a BMW without a warranty. They are high performance cars and even minor repairs are costly. Electronics are insane.

I get it, some people prefer to roll the dice on future issues. Personal choice. But attacking people who, after considering the options and risks, make a choice to have a warranty, shows immaturity.

Reading through threads like this make me sick. While I have not had any of the issues reported here (yet?) on my low mileage (less than 4K) 2023 Outer banks, I sympathize with those who do.

Why is it that the site Ford rep has not offered to step in and look at this case?

I would be beyond livid if a dealer drove my vehicle 1500 miles during the long term repair the OP has had to go through.

It’s honored at any ford dealership. It’s a 2022 big bend.
Youre "lifetime powertrain warranty" added by your dealer is good for any dealer?? That's incredible. This is something you paid extra on top of the price of the car?

In what way was @MGM's post an attack? I read it as offering an alternative to purchasing an extended warranty. Disagreement is not an attack.

I’m honestly surprised you haven’t traded it in yet. I don’t say that to be funny or smart, just from observing your posts since you joined. I know you don’t trust it for long trips due to the issues others have had. I couldn’t move like that because I put so many miles on mine and long trips to NC and TX frequently from FL.
I decided to keep it. I like everything about the BS but the 1.5L, not so much. I am fine with its performance. The percentage of having a breakdown is low. So if a breakdown occurs, it is gone ASAP. With my say, 3K-4K per miles per including a yearly trip to NJ, the percentage is even lower.:)

They could’ve worded it a little bit better. I took it as an attack too instead of being helpful. “What is the logic…” is in a way calling people stupid for buying extended warranties. It really didn’t need to be put in there.

As I said, they could’ve worded it better than how they did.

I get your point, but one may also view the wording as a way of asking a person to explain their decision process. Perhaps it's a more aggressive debate tactic than some might be used to, but it's nothing out of the ordinary for civil debate.

I try not to attribute malice to anyone if I have to make assumptions to do so.

FWIW if the Turbo comes apart and takes out the 1.5 Eco Boost engine how does that make the 1.5 Engine bad when the busted turbo parts could have went through the engine?I know about the Water Pumps but what other bad Engine problems does the 1.5 Eco Boost Have?

No. No cost.

If I'm reading your posts correctly, because you bought your Ford at Scenic Ford, you have a lifetime powertrain warranty, available at ANY dealer? And this was at no extra cost above car price?

Do I have that right?

If so, I will journey there to buy all future vehicles. ?

There are quite a number of dealerships that offer dealership-sponsored warranties above and beyond what Ford offers. For example: Bommarito Ford here in the STL area offers a nationwide 10 yr/200K warranty plus two years of complementary maintenance on all new vehicles it sells.

Interesting.
I had no clue a dealer could or, errrrrr....would, offer an extended warranty on a vehicle (at no itemized extra cost, no less), and that it could be utlilized at any dealer nationwide. Learning something new every day. I've been going to absolutely the wrong dealerships. ?
