This is some of the stupidest things ive heard.

My wife ordered an Escape, but changed her mind & wants a BS instead so we tell our sales guy & find one on the lot. He cant sell it to us until it gets the recall addressed. so it sits & waits. My wife finds another one she likes & we get the process started on that one. sales rep comes back & says he cant sell it because they dont have the title for it, "it was ordered as a mannequin" (I personally have NEVER heard of that except as a display in a store). But he says they havent gotten the title yet & cant sell it until it comes in.
I know that state government can run slow from time to time, but this process has been going on since around Halloween.

Oh this dealership Ive had great experience with weve bought dozens of cars from them over the years

Big Bronco mannequins have to be there for 6 months I think before they can sell them. Probably the same for the Sport.

That is really annoying. Also doesn't help Ford's case against dealers who are putting obscene markups on them.

Look for a Badlands, no recall on the 2.0 motor.

I’ve never heard of a car mannequin, what is that? Is that what a dealer demo car is?

Just a car to be used for marketing and test drives for select models. They’ve used them for the Broncos, Lightning, etc.

Tell them your finding someone who will sell you a car......and do just that. (I Believe your being lied too).

I had an Edge...Drove by my dealer and saw my BS. Called my Sales lady....Drove from work traded keys and signed the paperwork in 30 minutes. Was home by 5:30PM. That was March 4th.

Mine was a Demo! The state issues the title.....no new cars have titles....even demo's.

Yea I would be asking a lot more questions, but I’d also just go find another one after this amount of time. Plenty of BS on lots all around and advertised at MSRP. No reason to wait for this one especially if it’s being driven on test drives all the time.

When I ordered my BS in January the dealer made a point of saying that they may get the vehicle in but if there was a recall or there was a service bulletin, I wouldn’t be able to pick it up until Ford cut it loose.

I walked in to my GMC/Pontiac Dealer in 2005....wanted to buy a Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix built in a Southern Cali GM Plant that now makes Tesla) Bought it at a really cheap price. I came in the next week and offered to buy thier Pontiac whatever it was, cash just like it was being advertised on the Billboard at the Dealership. $9995....(Chevy Cavalier) They had 15 in the parking lot with the exact right packages/options they were advertising. I had checked there inventory on-line and all was a match. They refused to admit they had any to sell. It was Dec 31st. Go Figure.....I said FU drove down the street and paid cash for a new Chevy............

It's a $21k fine for each vehicle they deliver without the recall being fixed.

I bought my BS last Monday, got Ford corporate involved Friday, and magically the parts are in and I can take delivery tonight. Maybe give Ford a call and ask if they can help. Assuming the dealer has your vehicle in their possession and proof you've bought it.

A quick Bronco Sport inventory check of 3 dealers in the SE Michigan area shows a decent quantity of Big Bend models, Heritage models are 2nd in quanity and the Badlands is 3rd. Outer Banks inventory is slim.

If your wife is interested in the Outer Banks, I can see the frustration, not many out on the lots.

Unless fuel economy is the number one priority, I'd pick the Badlands, it's always entertaining.

Pretty sure you'll find something. Good luck.

Correct. New vehicles have an MCO -manufacturer certificate of origin. The dealer has to have that to get the bank to loan the dealer the money to pay Ford for the vehicle. I used to work at a bank that did floor plan loans for a local Honda dealer and a boat dealer.

Typically, what interest rate does a bank provide to a dealer who buys vehicles from a manufacturer?
