I just put an order in for a Bronco Sport Outer Banks at 6% under invoice. Zack was great and super helpful. Can't wait until it arrives!
Thanks!

Also, for those waiting for a VIN. Yesterday seems like the first scheduled day in about 2 months where we got some Bronco Sport VINs assigned! So finally after the holiday break we are making some progress.

They are all scheduled to be built the week of 2-14 to 2-20. So a quick turnaround and we'll see them here at the store mid-March! A mix of Big Bends to Badlands received VINs.

That should help those who are waiting for a VIN for an estimate on timing.

Great news, Zach! How many Bronco Sport VIN’s did Granger get assigned this week? And how many BS orders are there in your order bank? Seems like the ratio of those two would help estimate the wait for folks who are just now submitting an order.

Your pricing is locked in at the time of ordering and you shouldn't receive a price increase. Ford price protects dealers so if they deliver to the person who ordered the car (name/address match) they automatically get reimbursed for price protection.

For your security if you have an offer signed by the store it certainly helps protect you. We do not do that as a practice unless a customer requests it. We've always stood behind our word as well.

Hope that helps.
That helps very much, thank you!

Now I'm really starting to wonder -- because in addition to refusing to sign the 'order summary' our salesman told us that WE would be responsible for any price increase(s) from Ford.

As for standing behind your word, as I mentioned, my wife and I both (coincidentally, we met in MD) have family that go back generations in Iowa. I know that business is often still done that way there.

Here in Maryland, things are different. Actually, I really should not make a blanket statement about the entire state. It may be small, but there are huge differences between Western Maryland and Eastern Maryland, which are still mostly rural (lots of beans and corn in the eastern part of the state) -- and the Baltimore/D.C. area.

We live in a semi-rural area on the outer edge of the metro region. My sense is that some dealers still do business the old way, but some are ruthless scam artists. Our dealer is family owned and has been in business over 100 years. I'd like to think that still means something, but the fact that the salesman lied to us and told us that any price increases were our responsibility does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling.

I just received an email from Ford yesterday saying our Badlands is scheduled for production the week of Feb 14 -- much sooner than I thought. I guess we'll be finding out soon whether we will buy from FMC or Granger.

They may be oblivious to the fact that Ford reimbursed them on these orders. More ignorance than ill will. Before all these retail orders with covid shortage, I wasn't aware of the policy.

We have 50% of our total retail orders scheduled.

Thanks for the clarification Zach.

I've been giving our local dealer the benefit of the doubt. Like Granger, they have a good BBB rating, and the reviews I read (on 4 separate sites) were much more positive than negative. There were no mentions of last minute extortion (ADM on delivery) or customers forced to pay MSRP increases after placing an order. Of course, there are hundreds of reviews and I only read a fraction of them.

Our salesman made it abundantly clear that my wife and I (NOT the dealership) would have to pay any potential cost increases from Ford. He mentioned it several times actually. I haven't said anything to him (or anyone else there). My current plan is to just see how it goes. Hopefully it's as you said, "More ignorance than ill will."

I actually bought my WRX from them (they're Ford/Subaru) and that transaction was painless -- but it was also 21 years ago. It was the first year for the WRX and, like the Bronco Sport, they were hot, but the dealer honored the agreement we had -- which was a low price, between invoice and sticker. If they still operate that way we should not have any trouble.

I did send an email to Mike Levine. I'm hoping the address is a good one. It came from a recent Ford PDF announcing a meeting Mike participated in.

**February wholesale cycle update**

Contrary to other rumors, the 2022 Bronco Sport orders are continuing on. There's been no talk of final year build out. That's usually the last month of wholesale and represents the last 2 months of production. I'd anticipate Bronco Sport orders continuing for 2022 for 5-6 months at a minimum.

Right now Ford is collecting about 20-25% of overall sales as retail orders. Compare that to the national average on all Ford's being 30-40%. So while demand for the Bronco Sport and turn once it hits the lot is super high, it isn't impossible to get a retail order certainly.

So why does my retail order take so long?
The biggest issue is commodity constraints and with a few recalls mixed in, this can delay production. Just think, the more computer chips involved, the longer the production process will likely take. Also overall demand for badlands, outer banks trims have been higher than a big bend or base.

We are continuing on our 6% discount and I'd imagine we'll get a good chunk of our retail orders vin assignments this wholesale cycle in the next 45 days or so.

Thanks!

Yeah, no kidding. What do you know about the timeline of getting the remaining 2021s hit with the recall off the lots?

I believe that should be by the end of first quarter.
