I know there has been a lot of debate about a hood protector. I just received my first rock chip right in the front edge of the hood. My eyes go to it every time I enter the garage. Now I'm thinking about a hood protector. I know vibration at highway speed has been talked about, that would be something I could not tolerate. Any new information on what models are best and any other opinions. I used to buy leather bras for all my vehicles, but it seems they have went out of fashion, only available for the Explorer.

Well I made the mistake of getting the EGR one cuz it doesn’t go directly onto the hood like the Ford one does. Now I can’t go thru the car wash because of the deflector. I should have put the Ford one on, solves the problem of the car wash and the rock chips.

I have the Xpel paint protection film. I had it done through the dealer, but the are a lot of places that apply them. I have the EGR in the garage. I haven’t decided if I want to put it on or not. I had a different one on the 2022 that was basically bolt on. I take my BS through the touchless car wash all the time. I refuse to use a car wash that slaps/beats the heck out of my paint and the ones with brushes are not any better. Just my $0.02 worth.

I've reported on other threads that I installed the Ford hood protector, and I have had absolutely no issues with hood vibration or any other ill effect.

i just installed the Aeroskin ii this past weekend. Held up to heavy cross winds and helped limit wind noise caused by my roof rack. It does rattle the hood quite a bit after 70+ mph but overall a great buy and looks good.

I have the Aeroskin II, it definitely shakes the hood a scary amount at 70+ speeds. But, I guess I've just gotten used to it and stopped worrying about it. I got a freaking chip right after my first trip on the highway, so I guess I'd rather have the shaking than more pits.

My hood shakes going through the air dryer at the car wash. The hood are just a bit nervous around fast moving air! ?

Had mine installed when I purchased the vehicle new in '21. No problems and it had saved the front of the hood from a few dings during out yearly round trips from Florida to Wyoming

Areoskin waste of money.
If it saves some paint chips and possibly windshield chips and cracks, worth the money.

I have one installed and I'm happy with it. But you know, opinions are like A!!!!, everyone has one are highly subjective.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE.

14,000 miles of freeway driving and one tiny chip the size of the head of a pin. Stop tailgating ?

I have the AVS Aeroskin for over a year. Easy to install, seems to be doing the job keeping rocks and small pebbles off hood and windshield. Haven't noticed any hood vibration with speeds up to 80mph.

I'm not a fan of the look with the hood protector but will go with one if I get chips.

I strongly suggest any type of hood protector. After 70,000 kms, the front lower edge of our hood is pretty rough.
