Any issues installing the hood lift struts from Ford performance and removing the manual prop bar. I am not to mechanical and wondering how difficult to swap out.

I installed Redline hood struts no problem. As far as removing the stock prop bar, I had to grind a little off the hook end to take it off. I couldn't get it off otherwise without removing some front-end pieces. It would still work fine if you wanted to put it back on.

This is also one of those "completely frivolous but so so so worth it" mods. It really does make your life a lot easier. I also went with the redline struts, but I assume the Ford performance ones are essentially identical.

The install on the sport is really straightforward. More so than many other cars, actually. There's nothing in the way for the sport and the bolt locations are easy to get to. E.g. it's actually harder on the big broco.

Like others already said, though, don't bother removing the prop rod unless you want to cut the end off. It doesn't hurt to leave it there.

I have Redline props on my Ranger. For the Bronco Sport I went with this from Amazon:

"RERPRO Hood Struts Lift Support Kit for Ford Bronco Sport 2021 2022 2023 Accessories Front Quick Hood Lift Supports Shocks Gas Springs Prop Rod Replacements, 2 Pack Black"

https://a.co/d/877jOkz

Virtually identical in looks and install process. We'll see if the long-term performance is identical.

Easy install.

Have fun.

Is the hood opening higher than with the prop rod?

Same here.

These take all of ten minutes to install. Mechanical ability required is equal to being able to tell left from right.

Manual prop bar stays in place.
Go with the Redline brand. There's another one for half the price but it's poorly made and I ended up returning it and going with the Redline.

It's typically one of the first mods I do to a new vehicle if it doesnt have them already. Cheap, easy, and generally opens higher than factory as is, unless you own a Mercedes and it has their typical needlessly more complicated than it should mechanism. IYKYK. ;)

I'm definitely going to install this. My 2008 no-frills (not even power-windows) Dodge Ram even has a hydraulic hood lift like this.

The first time I opened the Sport's hood I was surprised how old-fashioned it was, considering all the other bells and whistles everywhere.

I had a $45K '22 Ridgeline RTL-E with the bar. :)
