Parks Ford in Gainesville Florida gets a big thumbs up for quick and courteous handling of the recall. My appointment was for 8:15 AM. I got there early (7:30) with a breakfast in hand. They had me out by 8:00 AM!

I had asked them to also look at the feature for drifting off to the side and not "rumbling", as that stopped working after we had the oil changed on our last visit. The service rep checked and said the feature was enabled, and that more than likely a camera was not functioning correctly, and I would have to bring it back for a complete diagnosis that could take a day or so. I asked about a loaner, and they said they only have a couple, so it would be a hit or miss on that.

So, I'll have to decide if the feature is worth scheduling around a loaner car availability.
Did you accidentally turn it off by hitting the button at the end of the turn signal arm?

I performed the PCM/ BCM recall last Friday at Gosch Ford Temecula (CA) and went on a 300 miles overland excursion in the mountains. Noticed the shifting was erratic loaded with all the camping gear initially but “Betty White” figured it out after some driving. Shifts fine now and will continue to update if anything unexpected arises.

I did not...this is the first time I've been driving the BS. My wife says no. It stopped working after a complimentary oil change at the dealership, so its possible they could have.

All is well; it works.

This actually happened to me — I had service at the dealer and when I got it back, I couldn’t figure out why the display was all messed up and it was behaving oddly. Luckily a quick google search turned up that they must have pushed that button at the service center.

I occasionally turn it off when I need to cross a line in the road and Spooky says no. When engaged, and speed control is active, she won't let me steer her over a line so I turn it off. Sometimes I forget to turn it back on until I find her drifting and not displaying a warning like steering wheel vibration. I'll be honest though, I've never noticed the red dash lines. I'm gonna make a point of watching for that.

Got the recall done today. Took under an hour, while I drank the complementary coffee. Everything worked same as when I brought it in, saw no differences during drive home — then again, I am still on the original battery, with no problems, from 04/21 when I picked her up. :please:

Update:
After 8 days of driving around town (relatively short trips), still no problems and BS seems to be running “better”. I’ve noticed the ASS is working much better and more reliably (yes, I do use it). It seems like the charging system is improved, though this is only “seat of the pants” observation.

After pressing the button twice, first to turn off the feature (as shown in the display behind the steering wheel) then a second time to turn it back on, it all works now. We see the left and right lines in the display, and when we veer to right or left, the line turns red and we feel it in the steering wheel.

Weird that we had to turn it off then on to make it all work again. I'm good though, as I don't have to loose the vehicle for a day to have had it diagnosed.
Bucko, after you first posted about the Lane Keeping feature I started paying attention regarding how it was working. I made sure it was on by checking the button on the end of the left stalk and I verified that the settings for vibration alert and intensity were set on high. I started testing by drifting the Bronco over the edge of the painted lanes while driving over 40 MPH. I did notice the lines in the graph on the dash change to yellow or red as I got up to the painted lane lines and nudged the Bronco back but the steering wheel did not begin to vibrate until I had crossed over the center line. I assume it is working as it should for the Bronco but compared to my 20 Escape and 19 Edge the response while driving the Bronco seems to be much more muted. On the other vehicles the steering wheel vibrates as I am up agains the painted lines and the nudging of the steering back to center feels much stronger. Is the muted response on delay in the steering wheel vibrating until over the line normal for the Bronco? For now I am assuming that my Bronco being a 24 model year, Ford may have dialed back the intensity of the Bronco's response compared to my previous model Fords or the Bronco is just different in how the Lane Keep feature responds. For anyone who has other Ford vehicles with the Lane Keep feature have you noticed any difference in how the Bronco Sport Lane Keep feature works?

Using your turn signal indicator shuts it off until you release the turn signal indicator.

I cannot answer how or if there's a muted response, as this complete feature is new to me!

I had it done a month ago. It coinsided with my battery failing right after the warranty expired. No big deal actually as I have a better battery now. The one thing I noticed is the Start/Stop duration with all accessories off. Before the engine off cycle was 3 minutes, now it is 2 minutes. Everything else is the same as before. Without having any information on what actual programming was done I suspect one change was the charging cycle and voltage settings. The previous settings allowed the battery to discharge to a lower voltage before automatically starting. Now the new programming is set to restart at a higher voltage thus not draining the battery as much. The constant lower discharge setting my have contributed to a earlier battery failure. I cannot say for sure but the science supports thats with the type of battery that came from the factory.
Programming is as important as the mechanical side of vehicles now days. It was a lot easier to work on anything pre 80s but thats okay. So far after 2 years my BS is just as awesome, just takes a little more maintenance and recall work to keep it that way. Kind of a hobby car in a certain sense keeping up with everything.

I think it's the former. We have both a Badlands and a 2020 Escape; the response between the two is markedly different. My guess is the Bronco Sport suspension configuration doesn't lend itself well to rapid changes in direction, so Ford dialed back the response to prevent overcontrol.

Thank you. That is what I kind of thought but wanted input from the forum.

Two weeks since the reprogramming and I'm very happy with the results. I figure as long as nothing changes, my BS is operating as programmed.
