Ive heard of a few of the 1.5L cats cracking and leaking so bad you can smell it in the cabin. Maybe ford got enough complaints they're doing this instead of having yet another recall out there.

Yep I’m in USA as well so maybe it’ll roll out to more and more people. I only get on my app every so often so I’m not sure exactly how long that’s been available. For sure popped up within the past month

Yes!!! So glad they brought this to USA. My cat has been leaking for a few months and due for inspection this month and was going to drop it and weld it myself. Now, the dealer is on the hook!

I can’t find any info whatsoever online with the information I have. I’m curious if it states “future program” as in, this will be a program offered in the future or something idk

UPDATE:

Got my 22 BS OBX up to my local dealer. At first I felt they were going to try to cop out since it actually wasn't throwing any codes.

I shared with them a photo I did from a screen grab of a YouTube video showing the crack that comes from the bad casting.

I also sent them the text from the Canadian letters the CN owners got (US owners did not get the letter and details on Fords site are miniscule).

The service writer approved the repair.

Sadly, they have to order the part and they said that Ford says 7-10 day order time. Unfortunately, my NC State safety inspection expires end of this month. While I don't live in a county with an emissions test, the safety inspection will not pass for an exhaust leak. I'll just have to pay the late fee to the state I guess

Maybe with the paperwork you have showing the parts on order you will be issued a waiver and only need to return after repairs made for a retest? Works that way in some states anyway.

UPDATE 2:

My BS is up at the dealers. Dropped it off Friday. It is scheduled to be installed today.

Hopefully it is a one day install. I have zero rust underneath, but cats and exhaust bolts still are cooked on there.

I am so happy to get that quiet exhaust again and not the groan from the obvious leak underneath.
