Recently, my experience with Ford's warranty left me frustrated. While driving in snowy conditions, heavy wet snow accumulated on the felt/fabric skid plate beneath my Bronco Sport. This resulted in the cheap plastic brackets breaking, causing the skid plate to drag under my car.

Despite the apparent flaw in the design, Ford attributed the damage to an "act of God," leaving the repair cost of $300 on my shoulders. It's ironic that my Bronco Sport boasts an articulation feature for slippery conditions, yet the car's equipment failed to withstand the snowy challenge.

hoping your gonna try more than one dealer... Just saying
Not a bad idea.

An 'Act of God' is akin to lightning striking a tree branch onto your car, not faulty equipment unable to handle the advertised conditions for these vehicles driving through Utah in snow.

How deep was the snow you were driving it in?

As I did too. Good luck with getting this resolved.

??? I don't think I've ever heard of "wet powder" snow before. Powdery snow is drier because temperatures during snowfall were below freezing and have remained so. If temps are near or above freezing snow will have higher water content, thus will not be powdery. Once powder snow begins to melt it's no longer powder.

Interesting perspective, but wet powder snow is a well-known phenomenon among winter sports enthusiasts. It's a denser type of snow that's fantastic for certain activities. Thanks for chiming in though!

I ripped mine off the first time I took it off road.

For a little

more money, I got two metal skid plates. On Sunday, we took a short cut on an unplowed road through 40 miles of slushy snow where I was plowing the center. The truck in front lowered it a little. I've only installed the driver side skid so far, but it worked great. Once we got on the muddy road, the wheel well carpets collected a bunch.

Those metal skid plates should definitely offer better coverage and durability compared to the stock ones. It's great to hear that the driver side skid plate performed well during your recent snowy adventure. Hopefully, once you install the other skid plate, it'll provide even more peace of mind during your off-road excursions. Keep us updated on your mods and adventures!
