Hopefully their idea of more hybrids does come to pass. I’m certainly interested in that technology for my next vehicle even though I can’t/won’t go full EV. There are a lot of advantages to hybrids, though even then many traditionalists won’t like that much technology.

Interesting though that it’s really only taken a couple years where sales haven’t materialized as fast as hoped to have an industry wide pullback on full electrification. It seems the early adopters have their Teslas & others are staying away.

But then you won’t be able to charge up while driving on roads like these

Now this would truly be the future! If it can work in Norway it should prove this tech could work in northern & less than hospitable climates. Right now it appears it’s being deployed for BRT busses, which here have their own dedicated roads as they’re along main routes, but separated. Honestly I think by the time this type of tech becomes mainstream, particularly if you consider the inevitable arguments about who would pay for the electricity, my next car shopping would instead be shopping for the car after that.

The problem is that manufacturers were gunning for everyone to switch to electric without realizing that a significant portion of the population doesn't have a way to plug in their vehicle at home.

It's actually rather disappointing that auto manufacturers just didn't feel like diving into providing solutions for this. I **would** be casually interested in an EV, but because I have no way to plug in without going out of my way, I didn't even remotely consider one when I recently was looking for a new vehicle.

Yes, public charge stations exist like how gas stations exist...but sitting around waiting a while for your car to charge in an inconvenient location absolutely pales in comparison to taking 2 minutes to fill up at the pump.

I agree that charging at home is a big deal. Our manufacturer offered an installed charger if we bought from inventory instead of special ordering, and since we generate excess solar energy it was a no-brainer. I'm a little surprised chargers haven't become standard equipment on new home construction packages. If you do it then they are pretty cheap. .

For me, the large factor in buying a hybrid or full EV is the price. Once it is reasonable for me to buy, I'll have no issues in buying and driving one.

The big issue is the resail value. I purchased a 2022 Mach E GT Performance Edition and the window sticker was 72K today the KBB Value is 27K I was fortunate enough to have Ford do an over the air update and screw my car and they did a buy back after a lemon law case was filed with the state of Georgia. The car was a blast to drive. I charged at home but range is a problem in Georgia. I would never buy another one because of the value dropping so fast.

You're still missing something though. A very significantly large swath of the population doesn't own their own home or lives in something like a condo complex where there is physically no way to get a charging station installed.

It's not that installing them is a hassle for the current population (I mean, it can be, but that's not the point I'm getting at), it's that it's physically impossible for a large portion of the population to get a charger installed even if they wanted to.

I live in a garageless condo complex. I absolutely have the money to get a charger installed, but there is physically nowhere where I would be able to do so.

I drove a dealer '22 model Mach e just like yours. It was a blast to drive. It made my wife scream and my son say "Dad! You need to slow down." It's still in the dealer's inventory. I'm sure he'd be open to all reasonable offers. He didn't invest in the additional equipment and investment to be an authorized EV dealer. Said he'd never get his money back. At least that was a good decision.

Imagine the rates of cancer and birth defects coming from those who consistently drive on these roads.
I imagine there will be a Bose Frequency and Electromagnetic Suit to cancel out the charging affect on the human body (similar to how noise canceling headphones work)
 am joking

See earlier post for Bose Frequency and Electromagnetic Suit which also works for the magnetic shift

With EV's being 7 times more impactful to the environment to construct than an ICE vehicle, 99% of my driving is Highway (30k/yr just for work) combined withg rurual living, winters of -40 (c/f) and a crappy electrical grid, I have a difficult time with justification for even a Hybrid. I am hoping there is still pursuit of hydrogen powered vehicles in the future.
