Have you tried entering your VIN at the NHTSA Site? This link is for 2022 but enter your 2023 VIN to see applicable recalls.

https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2022/ford/bronco%20sport/suv/4wd
I tried the link too and it showed no recalls - but I got the message on my phone through FordPass so I assume I'll also get the letter. This has prompted me to leave my BS at home instead of driving it to the Philly airport at 3:30 a.m. next week. Not takin' that chance!!!!

Got the recall “pre”-notice yesterday. The EF battery in my ‘21 BSBL went bad and was replaced with AGM by Ford in July 24 (just after 3/36 warranty was up), so I paid for it. Checked w/my dealer today, and was told the recall no longer applied to me, but to check back when it was officially opened — they might get Ford to reimburse me for what I paid for the new battery & install. Fingers crossed :please:
I wonder if the recall will eventually extend to the '24 models. It wouldn't be the first time that a recall was extended to include more cars from earlier and/or later builds.

Supposedly Ford knows which batch of batteries were defective and supposedly they did not include the 24 model year but my EFB battery was 10 months old and since the beginning of December The auto start stop feature stopped working no matter how much I drove my BS. It did start up normally and I was using the plug in volt meter to watch how it changed when starting the engine and there was no indication that there was a problem.
I asked the dealer to check the battery and the SOC was at 67 percent. The Forman at the dealer told me that the batteries were cranking normally even though they were failing when tested. They replaced it with the AGM battery and auto start stop was working almost immediately. The BS sat for a full week without being used in the cold weather. I drove it yesterday and the auto start stop started working again after driving about 3 miles. So I do think that the recall should be extended to the 24 model years.

So it seems that the issue is only with Camel EFB batteries supplied during a specific time frame.

If we have an AGM battery from Camel we should still be inspected to make sure we do not have the Camel EFB installed.

I would think so assuming you got the recall letter because your Bronco Sport originally shipped with the EFB battery.

Also if you already replaced the battery and had to pay out of pocket I believe Ford will reimburse you so that would be a reason to get it inspected.

What is not clear to me is that if you get the vehicle inspected and the AGM battery is not from Ford are they going to replace it with a Ford AGM battery?

From NHTSA recall report: "Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have their vehicle inspected for the presence of a Ford Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) 12V battery. If there is not a Ford AGM battery present, one will be installed. There will be no charge for this service.

Ford provided the general reimbursement plan for the cost of remedies paid for by vehicle owners prior to notification of a safety recall in May 2023. Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense may be eligible for reimbursement, in accordance with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA."

Someone mentioned "System Off to Save Battery." This happened to me for the first time while I was in temperatures below freezing yesterday (here in Florida of all places). I'm assuming it's not related to the Cast-On-Strap and was just a cold weather event.
I’m assuming it’s related. I’m also in Florida although we did not have freezing temps. I’ve gotten the system off msg multiple times over the past few weeks. Yesterday my BS was a little hesitant when starting. Ironically just after I saw a news item on the recall. Today, battery died. Jumped started easily and I now have it on a trickle charger. I plan on calling my local dealer first thing tomorrow.

UPDATE: after all night on a charger, still had to jump start my OB this morning. Took it to the dealer. The service writer said the system off msg was a sign the battery was dying. turns out I’m still under warranty so after 90 minutes I was on my way with a new battery and the 20k mile service completed. Now I need to find out what “Charging System Service Soon“ means.

No. My 21 OB came equipped with an AGM battery. I replaced the original battery with the same Motorcraft AGM.

The recall appears in my Ford Pass app.

Looks like my 22 BB is included in this recall. Luckily I have not had any issues with mine at all including battery related stuff. Weather has been consistently below 10 degrees (dropping into negatives at night) by me and my baby Bronco has started up nicely every single time.
Praying that when I take it in to get this recall done it doesn’t start giving me trouble!?

I’ve been following this since the beginning of the NHTSA. My power surge and then drop started just before Thanksgiving. While I was driving a strong egg smell permeated the vehicle. I was lucky I was next to an Auto Zone But as I was pulling in alerts popped up saying power train and my back wheels locked for a few seconds. Then the car was on reduced power. When the auto zone technician opened the hood the battery was smoking and about to catch fire . I bought a new battery and had my vehicle towed to ford dealership. They keep my vehicle for two weeks and I was given the run around. This is the second recall for this . But I’m skeptical this is the fix . I brought my car home after paying $370. To clear codes . And my tires locked up again and the car wouldn’t reverse. I was told again nothing was wrong with my vehicle. I called ford headquarters and spoke with them and was told to take the vehicle back. Has anyone else had any issues?

Tires locking up sounds serious.

You might consider starting a new thread for that. You'd be more likely to get feedback that way.

Do you drive it every day and if so for how many minutes each day? Like i mentioned earlier in this Thread it was -12 Last Wednesday and even with the Battery Maintainer/Charger on it for 3 hours it still turned over pretty slow but started. I had Auto Zone Test the Battery the next day and the CC Amps was right on the Factory 700 specs but he said it only was showing a 25% Charge. But my drive to work and back is 15 minutes each way so not much charging time.

I assumed your original battery must of been an EFB battery since NHTSA recall 25V019 indicates that the EFB batteries can be defective and will be replaced with an AGM battery if not already installed. It will be interesting to hear what the dealer has to say regarding why you got the recall notice when your BS originally came with the AGM battery. Keep us posted.

I do drive it everyday. Driving time is exactly yours about 15 minutes each way.
