I’m assuming it connects when attached with a wire?

Have you tried removing your phone from the list of phones on the vehicle?

Had a strange one yesterday. I was on a call while in my BS (via iPhone). All going smoothly using hands free calling. The call ended the other party hung up (before i was able to) but on the BS's info screen, the the call was still active.

I was unable to disconnect the call using the phone or the End Call button (top left of screen). The only way i was able to finally disconnect the call was hit the Home button (the little house) and then "end call" button on the right side of the home screen. One issue solved.

My iPhone, however, showed the little orange dot that indicates that the microphone was still active. I ended up having to force a shutdown on the phone and once i rebooted, all seemed ok. I made another call, a bit later in the day and everything operated as expected. i'm guessing just a gremlin lurking in the software of either the BS or my iPhone that decided to mess with me.
What build of Sync 3.4 do you currently have installed?

Not even sure
Well .. it is important to know. Many issues are solved with SYNC 3, Software Version: 3.4 Build 23188 PRODUCT, the latest phone software version and new high quality certified USB cable, preferably USB-C. These things do matter.

Okay, I need to weigh in here too.

I’ve got a 2023 OBX and my spouse has a 2023 Escape. She can connect to CarPlay wirelessly and I can’t, even though my car is more “upgraded” than theirs. Should I be able to connect to CarPlay wirelessly? We both have iPhone 14 Pros.

Thanks.

The 2023 Escape comes equipped with Sync 4 which is capable of wireless CarPlay.

The Bronco Sport is equipped with Sync 3.4 which is not capable of wireless CarPlay. An after market adapter can be plugged in to add wireless CarPlay.

Sync 3 vs. sync 4. I bought a Carlinkit 3.0 and it works fine that way. I do plug it in on longer trigs as it tends to suck the battery down on the phone.

Mine is all wireless too. I just have a wireless adapter that plugs into the USB port in the under dash area. That's what I have to unplug on occasion to get CarPlay to sync.
Just a note. The 2024 Bronco Sports do not have wireless iPhone (or Android) connections. Ford removed the chip to save money. I real pisser since my '21 Mustang Mach E had it.

Sync 3.4 is not the limiting factor. The first Mulroney had it listed for my '24 Badlands Premium. It was later removed since Ford decided to save $20/car and didn't install the necessary chip. I know cause I bitched! My '21 MME FE had everything wireless.

I think you are confusing Wireless Carplay/Android Auto with the ATT Hotspot. Hotspot was removed from the chips not being secured by Ford. Sync 3 has never and will never have wireless ability with CP/AA.

These are 2 unrelated features.

Wireless CarPlay wasn’t available in 2022 or 2023 either. Those had Sync 3 as well. You need sync 4 to have wireless CarPlay. You can still connect via Bluetooth, but Sync 3 won’t support CarPlay via Bluetooth, only wired.

I understand that but it was available as part of the Premium package when I ordered mine in August. It was later removed.

It was available with the Premium Package prior to 2024. See the attachments.

Fortunately, the WiFi hotspot has nothing to do with wireless connectivity to CarPlay. But you are correct, that was removed for 2024.
