The straw has officially broken the camel's back for me. I was hopeful that this car would be something I'd keep for a long time. It's the first car I've ever paid off and got to see my name on the title. As a reward for my final payments on it, It stranded me while I was out shopping. I have no idea what is eating my batteries (I just bought a new one 6 weeks ago and the dealer has no explanation for the unknown background draw), but it was the final nail in the coffin. After dealing with weird issues with the breaks, my water pump going bad, and now unknown electrical issues, I feel like I just can't trust it anymore. I appreciate the miles it gave me, but it's time to say goodbye to my BS and hello to my new civic.

Thats a big change from a Bronco Sport to a Civic (I hope its a type R) lol.
I can understand the trust issue, my Badlands had a period where it couldn't be trusted.

Enjoy the new ride!

not really…the Bronco is ultimately a Ford Focus platform.

Most assuredly you will fare better with honda. Share what you got look forward to seeing updates.
Hmmmm lol nope - Focus. The C2 platform was born in 2018, to spin up the new Focus for Europe…today, that same platform is used:

A platform is not a vehicle, it's just a chassis. What you build on top of it is the vehicle. No one without an axe to grind would consider the Ford Edge/Lincoln Nautilus on a par with the Focus.

We traded OUT of Hondas to get our BS. The number of issues and recalls we with our CR-V and Passport we way beyond what we’ve experienced with our BS.

Honda just recalled another 1.5mm vehicles for transmission issues. Never Honda again for us.

I don't blame you for letting it go.
If our BS ever strands us, it will be gone too. After 54 years of driving and never being stranded, I don't have enough years left in my life for those kind of problems.

Just about all vehicles are experiencing an increase in the number of recalls. I'm keeping my ear to the ground for data regarding the root cause. My suspicion is the tradeoffs many manufacturers made to continue production through all the supply chain disruptions. When they couldn't get parts from their normal suppliers they had to consider alternative vendors. Those hens are coming home to roost. This, of course, is entirely an opinion on my part, but it comports with the available evidence. Again, I'm hoping our venerable automotive press steps up and does some investigative reporting.

The Honda lack of quality issue pre-dated the pandemic by several years. Google the issues with the 1.5l turbo

In order to meet the ever growing customer expectations for bells and whistles, cars have become more and more complex and thus prone to failures of both software and mechanical systems. More features = more problems.

Mark, not sure if the quality will ever recover.

Some brands are better than others, not sure who's at the top now, but with these vehicles getting more complicated, just more issues to go wrong with compromised parts.

We sure don't get what we pay for.

The automotive side is bad, but the RV side is abysmal, absolutely no quality control whatsoever.
