Beer of the day thread

I don’t need a multi ingredient drink my wife would drink.

For liquor a Woodford Reserve bourbon neat.

If I am feeling sophisticated a dry vodka martini with olives. Dry means glance at the vermouth while mixing. Shaken not stirred of course.

Finally a Florida Man IPA 9 percent while I watch my favorite sports team lose.

I think you and I would get along famously, Woodford neat and a cold banquet for me if I'm watching a game or something, i almost exclusively only purchase beers if the ABV is above or close to 9%, but I do stir my martini not shake.

ill definitely sip some bourbon or whiskey from my collection, but I enjoy making cocktails too. ive never ordered a cocktail ive been really too pleased with, maybe a negroni one time at this expensive "speakeasy", but nothing i couldnt make better, (stronger)

Been buying too many rums and tequilas lately. Got two new bourbons a few days ago to add to the collection. Sampling them tonight as I re plumb the returns on the aquarium.

01/25/2025 - Beer of the Day

Another addition.
Early Evening Beer. Neither my wife,nor I wanted to cook, so it's off to Charisma's in Álamos Sonora Mexico. Enjoyed a Los Hopes , another fine crafts beer from Cervecería Yoreme located in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico.

This one is a Blonde Ale, which I'm not normally fond of. However, it was an unseasonably warm January, so it was appropriate.

I live in the heart of Bourbon country and like it neat, but every now and then I reach for a Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA at 9% ABV.

The wife is having girls Euchre tonight. After making them all dinner I escaped to Draught Horse Brewery in New Hudson,MI. Had 3 delightful Malinois Sophistications.A nice Belgian Ale with 5.3 abv and 22 IBU. Nice amber color with a light nutmeg taste. Nice bready head.

Also a little side project I'm working on. I guess it may become wine? Fresh strawberries from the garden.

I checked on the strawberry wine on Friday, lots of bubbling, I ordered some better yeast should be here tomorrow. I'm thinking this bakers yeast may only get me up to 8%. Chopped up some more fresh strawberries and added them into the jar and gave it a stir. I'll probably do that again when I add the new yeast.

This is my personal favorite. My wife and I love to go up to the New Belgium brewery on Fridays for a pint or two and listen to live music from their patio. She prefers sour beers and their Transatlantic Kreik is her favorite. Now that the weather is warming up that's back on our to do list.
