I think the hood insulation is trim dependent. My Badlands has it as well. same for the spare tire well insulation.
Of course I had to go outside and check if our BL has spare tire well insulation...

I think it does, if you mean that charcoal grey fiber pad under the tire and the jack.

So only the BS BL has that? I haven't read any other posts about it.

They wuz robbed!

In all seriousness, it really surprises me that Ford would not go ahead and put the insulation in all Bronco Sports.

This has been the way since I can remember. Higher trim levels had better sound insulation.

I'll take your word for it. I really never paid much attention to acoustic insulation in cars. I know there is a large aftermarket for it.

I'd think something like that little pad would be standard across all trims. Then maybe a top trim level would get some 'above and beyond' treatment using premium sound deadening material -- like car audio enthusiasts use.

Does Ford point that out as a selling point -- better sound insulation?

How about the hood insulation? I always thought that was necessary to avoid paint damage from excess engine heat.

My first new car back in the early/mid 70’s included it with the stepped up package.

The hood insulation is the same reason, noise, not heat. I had a used Lincoln Mark in the early 80’s. Thought I was being smart by flipping the air filter cover to give that 460 a bit more air! Sucking in hood insulation wasn’t in the plan. Not one of my most shining moments.

Moral of the story is they did it for sound insulation, I had many other big V8’s where they wanted you the hear the engine. No insulation in those.

Yes, they point it out in the sales bulletins on different trim levels. On the OuterBanks, additional insulation is included in the engine compartment as well.
