Unsure why this occurs but some believe is due to something heavy enough on a rear seat (as if a human is left sitting on a rear seat).Mine double honks sometimes after I turn it off and open the door. Idk why…

Thanks, it works! I don't know why I didn't think of leaving the key in the cupholder as I've done with other vehicles (that had far less intrusive alarms than the double honk).Leave your door open or your keys in it. The horn honks when it's running and the key is outside car with doors shut.
I mean I have my backpack sitting in the back sometimes when it does it, but it does it when it’s not in the car too usually really early in the morning when all my neighbors are asleep…Unsure why this occurs but some believe is due to something heavy enough on a rear seat (as if a human is left sitting on a rear seat).

Kind of the same thing i mentioned last night!!Thanks, it works! I don't know why I didn't think of leaving the key in the cupholder as I've done with other vehicles (that had far less intrusive alarms than the double honk).
Do you mean that you never have the Sport running in the drive where you need to run back into the garage or house for something before leaving? No does not bother us at all. We think it is funny, kind of like the BS is telling you, hey dummy you left the engine running.
Leaving the FOB in the car makes no difference. If you get out of the car with the engine running and you close the doors, it will double-honk.I'm not really phased by it. Granted, if I need to swap the cars in the driveway without making too much noise, I'll keep the fobs in each vehicle to prevent the double honk but to be honest, it's not a big deal. For me it's a good way to know that the fob is on my person and the car is just letting me know that.
Are you sure? Because I've done that many times and not once did the horn go off with the fob inside. Maybe it's a configurable feature.Leaving the FOB in the car makes no difference. If you get out of the car with the engine running and you close the doors, it will double-honk.
X2 same for me!!Are you sure? Because I've done that many times and not once did the horn go off with the fob inside. Maybe it's a configurable feature.
Then maybe Ford smartened up at least a little bit with the newer models. Your profile shows that you've got a 2023. Mine is the first generation 2021, and it makes no difference whether my FOB is in the car or in my pocket - the car will still do the stupid double honk as long as I get out of the car with the engine running. Are you sure?
