Did a lot of people pay over MSRP for their Sports?

We got our 22 Badlands last year for $1,000 under MSRP, plus the $1,000 from Ford and the dealer gave us around $4,500 for our lease.

Not me but yes a lot of ppl did.
Not me either but I got mine at Granger for 6% under invoice, original price protection plus the 1k Ford rebate. 32K something for a Badlands. Even the state of Wisconsin didnā€™t believe it.

I read that the full size Bronco starts at 8.4 inches of ground clearance vs 8.8 on the badlands. FYI. The SAS was a little to tall for my vertically challenged self.
The base comes standard with 30 inch tires so itā€™s not going to sit much higher than a base Sport. The Braptor on the other hand comes standard with 37ā€™s plus a lift. The full size Badlands comes standard with 33ā€™s and a bit of lift.

Most vehicles are not good investments, the last year or so was an oddity.
Popular new vehicles sold for more than MSRP, sometimes much more, and many used vehicles held or increased in value over that same time period.
Good or bad, times are shifting again and depending when you jumped into the pool things may or may not work in your favor.
Until you make an actual deal, you haven't gained or lost anything.

I don't know about you all but I hated the whole empty car lots car shortage ordeal. Yeah your trade in was worth a kings ransom, sell to CarMax for a fortune etc, but you had to pay more for what ever you were buying and at times dealer lots were empty putting buyers in need in a very difficult position.

While trade ins are coming down at least I see some Sports on most lots in my area. Maybe not that every option Badlands, maybe not the color you want, but there are some sitting in inventory now and others arriving all the time. So ppl who want one have a chance to buy a Sport off the lot no waiting just go check it out maybe drive it home.

So yeah trade ins are dropping but I am more then happy to see us hopefully leave the whole car shortage empty dealer lots behind us and sooner the better even if it means my Sport is worth a lot less.

I ordered my 2023 Bronco Sport OBX back in Sept of 22. The dealership I purchased from only charges $50 over invoice (whatever it costs them to get the vehicle from Ford). Additionally, I was able to get about $2k in rebates off that price as well. I ended up getting my 23 OBX for around $36k. The only major option I did not order was the Co-Pilot 360+. I think its worth it to shop around as much as possible. Although it is convenient to shop locally, it could save you several thousand in money. The local dealership down the road from where I live wanted $3k over MSRP for a 22' OBX (no thanks!). That is why I was willing to drive about an hour south to purchase mine! Good luck all!

I donā€™t know where you are getting your tire diameters from, but it is wrong. Not sure about the Bronco numbers but the BS numbers are way off.

Not sure what you mean? Comes directly from the Ford website?

Base BS are 28.5. Badlands optional are 29.1

My bad, I thought your tire sizes were BS numbers, not Bronco numbers. The fact that there are similar model names between the two can get confusing.

So many people are underwater, they did it to themselves by paying too much. I had to drive almost 3hrs away just to get MSRP on my BS, still didn't like the deal. One of the stories going around is some lady is $35k underwater on a Kia. People need to wake up with their finances. I'm in the industry, seeing a lot of these situations. Banks are seeing a lot of delinquent accounts. Dealers made a quick buck with the markups but now removed those buyers from the market because now they can't get out from under their current car. Consumers are at fault to for playing along. Banks are just as guilty also for buying these loans. Time to be happy with what you have.
All well said. What Iā€™d also add is that in the pursuit of that quick profit, dealers also burned relationships with customers. My local dealer ensured that Iā€™ll never give them a dime if my business ever again simply because 2 or 3 months before the end of nice run dealers had on charging those markup, my local dealer would not honor X-plan pricing for me on my 3rd new car purchase from themā€¦.the previous 2 being X-plan purchases and thr 2nd of which was earlier in 2022. So I wanted to buy a second new car from them in less than a year but they thought Iā€™d be cool with getting a far worse deal? GTFOā€¦.

2 months later, no doubt they wouldnā€™t have been singing that tune. Such short-term thinking. That frenzy that was going on sparked a lot of bad interpersonal interactions.

I take forever to decide on a new vehicle, but from the time that I was looking to the time I fell in love and found the exact Bronco Sport I wanted, the trade in value on my BMW fell by $5000. This was over the course of only 4 months. Honestly I'd look at a lift kit and maybe some running boards. I'm actually very excited to be lifting mine with some larger tires. And there is a crazy price difference on the full size Broncos right now to get the same QOL features as the Sport.
Same. I lost $4,000 on my trade-in over a 4 or 5 month period.

I ordered a ā€˜23 BS Badlands in September of '22 with the premium package and 360+. $38k. I agree - deals exist, and they always didā€¦.even through the frenzy. Paid under MSRP for a ā€˜22 BS Badlands I ordered in March of 2022, and things were pretty insane at that time. I get that people find themselves in different situations and sometimes have to take a deal they didnā€™t necessarily like. Knock on wood Iā€™ve never been thereā€¦never been in a situation where I had to take a deal I didnā€™t like.
