Hi all. I have been talking to the folks at 5Star and recently purchased and applied their 91 octane fuel map to my Badlands 2.0 EB. For reference, here's the link:

Adam provided dyno charts and even shared the 1.5l EB charts -- very impressive!

Here you go!

Yes, that is about right. I really like it. The increase in low-end and mid-range torque is quite nice. I have shared more details on the tuning strategy in that thread (e.g. disabling basic traction control).

Considering the difference in price, my BSBB is doing fine on 87 Octane. If it works, why spend money to fix it?

I’m not sure I follow, but my intent was just to share news that I discovered while investigating options for my tuning needs.

I agree the BSBB is nice, but some may want to tune their rigs for more power. It is nice to have more options, right?

No disagreement there.

That down low power bump is pretty significant. Wish running a tune didn't kill the power train warranty.

my dealer is super friendly to tunes. My 2018 F-150 had a dialed in tune by Josh at 5 Star, I'd trust them over ANY tuning company.

The 1.5 definitely has more power on tap - they're getting close to 200hp per cylinder on the 1.6 Toyota 3 banger. Eco boost is Mazda tech and should hold up fine to a 40-50hp boost. 250 hp isn't bad on the trans either since the Badlands is already @ 250hp and uses the same unit.

Couple of bolt ons with a tune and Mountune gets 250hp out of the motor in a puma/fiesta. With warranty.

Yep! I'm a big fan of their work, but don't believe they are doing anything here quite yet?

Speaking of which, I personally know the management there but have not talked to them about this application yet (I used to live just minutes away from their Torrance HQ).

Mountune USA did my various engine swaps in the Fiesta ST. They also did the initial tuning after I switched from Cobb.

Do you like Cobb?

Yes. I wrote a bit about them in the related 2.0EB tuning thread. I only have/know good stories about them, but they have changed since I started using them in the early to mid 2000s…

Thanks for sharing! I'm just about out of the powertrain warranty, so it's only a matter of time before I spend money I really don't have on something I definitely don't need, but this is at the top of the list now.

Thanks for the Dyno Graphs for the 1.5 Eco Boost as i'm the new owner of a 2023 Bronco Sport Big Bend since December 20th!!Very Tempting any idea what the cost is on the 5 Star 93 Tune for the 1.5?I plan on using 93 octane in it anyhow since that's what the factory power ratings are with?

Looking into this tune for my 1.5 with a few supporting mods. Has anyone actually run the 5star tune on their 1.5? If not I will order it and play guinea pig after I recover from Christmas.
