Two days old, and this is my second separate issue. First issue: Satellite radio cutting out, basically unusable. Techs found an alert issued by Ford. The antenna is faulty and needs to be relocated. Second more serious issue: At stops, the vehicle dies completely and will not restart after auto shut off. The screens go blank, check engine light comes on, and different error messages pop up. The vehicle must be put back in park and completely restarted. It is at the dealer now. So far they cannot diagnose. Anyone else having this problem?

From my experience with an Escape that had on occasion the same issue with auto stop/start, it could be a bad battery or it could need a software refresh.

It's a major safety issue when you take your foot off the brake at an intersection and the car doesn't start up and go. One is lucky if the car behind you doesn't run right in to you before they realize you're not moving... Ford should really create some kind of fail-safe for auto stop/start.

Check the battery cables and see if they are tight.

Hey there! I can look into your Bronco’s auto stop concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

My situation isn't the same but it does have to do with the auto start/stop switch. I prefer to disengage that function and I hit the button as soon as I start the vehicle. Lately, when turned off, and when stopped at a light, the green indicator on the dash lights up and the vehicle goes into either neutral or the brake is activated. Once I hit the gas the vehicle moves forward as normal. This is NOT normal. First, the green indicator should not come on, the indicator should be dark with a line through it. Secondly, the motor does not shut off. This has been occurring off and on for the past 3 or so months and usually only lasts a few days, but it's currently doing it and it's now been over a week. Maybe I did something with pushing the brake pedal, like too hard or something like that. At least the motor keeps running and it's in gear! I only drive in normal mode. I have a Big Bend 1.5l 3cyl.

You're conflating two things. The change in your vehicle's behavior is because you reached down and hit the "Brake Hold" button next to the parking brake (giving you the green icon). It has nothing to do with the Autostop switching off(which gives a white icon).

Aha! (Slapping my forehead)! What a maroon. Thanks Glamdring70 for enlightening me on something I should have known about since day one of ownership! Hopefully this has provided a laugh, a snicker or even a guffaw to those who have read my post and knew the obvious!

Gimme 10 lashes with a brake cable! I had addressed this same issue on another forum awhile back and was told about the brake hold button behind the e-brake switch! Sheesh! IMHO, it's in a bad place. It should be on the dash next to the on/off button. Imo. I'm done!

Our early delivery badlands edition is at Truck City Ford right now for this same issue.

it happened last month and they had it for 3-4 days but found nothing wrong.

happened again day after Thanksgiving. The thing is that it remains un able to start for 10-20min. Then by miracle we were able to start again.

Look at your insurance card. The VIN is on that card so police can verify the car is insured.
