Get the railcar number and track it yourself. It’s probably in Chicago getting transferred from Union Pacific to either CSX or Norfolk Southern.
It’s still a chip issue. Doesn’t mean they have none, just not as many as the need. This means they can build a batch that need them then wait for the next batch and build ones in between that don’t need them. In some cases they build units and let them sit if the item is easier to add later. We are doing the same thing where I work, it’s not just automotive. The issue with automotive is they are typically older chips as they don’t need the speed or size of the newer ones but that also means when things got shut down, they were/are the last to bring back on line.

Good Luck, we order Cyber Orange BL with everything but the moonroof, 8/29, got a notice in October scheduled to be built 11/22, change to 12/6 then to 12/10, finally built on 12/30 and shipped on 1/5 arrived in Birmingham, AL on 1/26, still sitting at CSX to get unloaded to be delivered to dealer.

Ordered BS BL, Premium, Tow, 360+ on 12/23, confirmation the same day. Using my email, which Ford clearly has, the FordPass app doesn't indicate my order. Is it normal for the order to only appear in the app once a production date is determined? I ordered through Granger.

My order never appeared in the app. It appeared in the tracker online at this site: https://shop.ford.com/vehicleordertracking/ You put in your order number from the email you received from your dealer along with your VIN in that same email. That tracker will periodically update (I guess I should say sporadically update). It will also be down more often than not. But you can generally see the progress of your vehicle through there. But the app never did much until my car was built and then it showed up as a picture with the right model color. And then once I got the car I was able to activate it.
I haven't received a build date so no VIN yet. I guess it only appears in the app once delivery is taken and the vehicle is actually purchased, which makes sense.

Once you get the email with the production date and VIN, there will be a link on the order tracking page to "register" the car with your Ford account. Will probably take a day or two to activate the button, but once you do that the BS will show up under your Ford account and in your FordPass. You won't be able to do anything with it there, but it'll at least show up.
