Additionally it has emission vape codes stating a micro leak in the exhaust. Ive replaced the spark plugs, the coils the emissions purge valve and have had the smoke test done and could not identify any actual leaks. I took it the Future Ford in Roseville CA to diagnose and a couple hours later they call to inform me that they think the problem is the transmission starting to slip. The say I need a new transmission and sent me this diagnosis:
The final quote is $16,000! A full transmission replacement cost $16000??? My BS has 95000 on it and has been faithfully serviced through its high-use but short life. It is fully paid for, 3 years old and it needs that much money to fix already. Im not too familiar with the transmission replacement world but 16000 seems absolutely absurd. Does this sound like even the right ballpark monetarily? I think that I will be trading it in for something depressing but will reliably get me through my commute. Any advice out there that may help me decide the best path forward?

VERIFIED CONCERN. SURGING COMING FROM TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER. WILL NEED TO REMOVE TRANS AND TEARDOWN TO POINT OF FAILURE. PRICIE INCLUDES REMOVING, DISASSEMBLING AND INSPECTING TRANSMISSION AND INCLUDES REASSEMBLING AND REINSTALLING TRANSMISSION IF ELECTED SUGGESTED WORK IS DECLINED. REASSEMBLING TRANSMISSION AFTER DISSASSEMBLY MAY CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO PERFORM DIFFERENTLY TO THE EXTENT OF NO ENGAGEMENT-QUOTED PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE PARTS | | | |
