I thought I saw a thread on this earlier, however I couldn't find it. I've noticed that when I shut off the vehicle (BS Base) and lock the doors (via key fob) that things shut off in a sequence....interior lights, then guages, then headlights (if night) and lastly the daytime running lights...

I know that strange things happen with automobiles....but the brake pedal issue simply vanished yesterday. Now the pedal feel is perfectly normal. The vehicle now has 1100 miles after a long trip this week. Only other variable I can think of is that where we drove to it was 15 degrees colder...

Come to think of it...I did open the liftgate this morning when it happened. I put a UPS package in there....then later in the morning I went to UPS...opened and shut the liftgate and it did not happen. Perhaps it just wasn't shut all the way and it didn't show a warning on the dash.

Re: Headlights...nope. Headlights are in "Auto" position, daylight when this happens. On the Base, its kind of a hybrid system. It's keyless door lock/unlock, but key ignition. Being an old "key-man" myself, I welcomed the return to a physical key. Unfortunately, I now find it now cumbersome...

Interesting to hear all of these comments. My BS Base was assembled in Mexico in late August and I picked it up in late September. No open recalls on it. I guess I was just lucky...or it's because the Base has less complex tech parts to hold production.

Thanks for your post. Funny thing is that the tank was 1/2 full from a fill-up a few weeks ago. Since I got it, I've only used it a few miles to go to/from work (5 miles). Today...the smell was gone. I'll have the dealer check it for the record.
