Hey everyone !! I traded in my 2022 Outer Banks for a new 2026 Badlands yesterday ! 😁 The other had a few issues and I wanted to switch out before I hit 60,000.
‘Quick question though.. when I was getting ready to leave the dealer I noticed the tire pressure was showing 43 on all tires…. According to specs it should be 33 . The rep said it could be because it was hot out and to give a couple of days ? I thought I read somewhere that the tires were overinflated for transit ? Is that correct ? I’m driving to Charlotte tomorrow…an hour from me early in the morning. Should be not an issue , right ? and I will adjust tomorrow evening after I am back from my meeting?

33 psi "cold". They do overinflate at the factory/dealer for delivery. 43 is overkill if it's been sitting overnight even in the summer, and that's coming from someone in AZ where my garage is 115 degrees. You should be fine at 37-40 after highway driving.

Won't be an issue but it's also super easy and quick to just let a little air out. If you drive like that for an extended period of time you could develop some uneven wear on the tires.

If you ever rent a vehicle, check the air pressure in the tires before or right after leaving the lot. They never adjust the air pressure from the factory. You could easily be in the low 40s.

Yes, they absolutely over inflate the tires during shipment. Part of the PDI process should be to correct the air pressures before delivery.

In the 40 PSI is to high. Check the tire pressure in the morning and adjust accordingly if needed and enjoy the trip in the new ride.

I run 40 psi when the tire can be inflated to 44 psi. even when i did alignment's unless the customer requested different.

That thing must ride like a tank! 40psi cold should give you around 43-44 when warmed up and driving.

Door placard says 33psi, which warms up to around 36-37psi.

I can’t imagine riding around at near max PSI around here with our roads.

Seven psi doesn't affect the ride that much try it, it sure save tread wear issues.

Yeah it should be 33 ... mine also shipped at 43 and I ran my first 2k that way before I noticed it. I guess some people like to run theirs high.

I run 35ish in mine. I don't notice any difference in ride quality and it gives a little cushion when temperatures start down in the fall.

I keep mine at 33psi year round. That's the cold psi rating and that takes into account warming up while driving.

They are over inflated when they first come in. You SHOULD be find driving that distance but factory specs say you should deflate to 33psi. I do it either late at night or early morning. The sun beating down on a black tire can raise it a psi or 2.
