Correct about the recall. Did not buy the extended. Transmissions should not go at 106k. Will follow up. Thanks for the support.

The 8F35 transmission should not be flushed. A drain and fill is recommended.

Have you had the transmission serviced before?

Were you having any issues with the transmission before being flushed?
that’s right - also read the owners manual, most people actually fall into the severe maintenance schedule. Gotta change the trans oil every 30k miles or 48k kms.

The Op's transmission has been having issues for awhile, could be a coincidence that it died post fluid flush.
Though the latest train of thought is if you haven't been servicing a transmission on a regular basis, don't start at a higher mileage, you'll be asking for trouble.

An effective way to flush without a machine is to disconnect to trans to cooler line from the rad. Connect a hose and put other end in pail. Remove the vent from the top of the trans an inset funnel. Put in a litre of fuel and start car. Car will pump fluid out into pail as you replace it by pouring into funnel. Continue until it flows clean. Ensure you have put maybe 1/2 qt more in than drained. Reconnect trans tube. Warm up trans, set level and you're good to go.
ya, since our bronco's don't have pan's with serviceable filters I guess you would have to figure out a different way so that should be perfect.

it was my truck I just had done and they just used the pump pickup while they had the pan off to change the filter.

Sometimes they go before the Warrantee is up and that's what it's for. And sometimes after the Warranty is up like Yours which is unfortunate but 106,000 miles is still a lot of miles and many have failed with less miles than that I'm sure.

Dude. Respectfully?! “Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t?” Did that really expound on the conversation?

That's interesting, I would have liked to see the adapter they used on the pickup. Good idea for sure.

I plan to have my transmission oil changed at 10K miles. While this may sound way too early, I figure it helps to clean out the initial break in material, especially since these transmissions don't have oil filers apparently, which is totally stupid.

If these people would only do a better design on these transmissions, like having a "REAL" oil filter, preferably like the one on the Allison Transmissions, which are external Spin-ons, but make the oil change much easier, and be required more often.

Automakers don't want you keeping vehicles a long time. Even Toyotas and Hondas are disposables now

If you read the owners posts or Google you will see the 8F35 transmission has an oil filter

Getting to the 8F35 transmission oil filter requires separating the transmission case in half which is not easy (to your point)

I'd like to know who designs these things.
To put the oil filter in such a place.

The very best place, as I mentioned before w/the Allison, is External as a spin on oil filter. That's the best I've seen.

Most of course, require the transmission pan removal, and even then, they aren't much of a "REAL" filter to say the least.

Then of course there is this one where you need to tear the entire transmission apart. ☹

You could get so much more out of automatic transmissions now-a-days if they would simply design better, especially when it comes to simple oil changes on them.

Absolutely. That's why it is recommended to change the fluid every 30K miles so that filter doesn't build up too fast.

Guess what a Guy that used to Post on Here bought His Wife a New Hyundai Santa Fe. I told Him the one Magazine I Read didn't Like the Transmission in them. He posted back on Here after buying the Santa Fe the Transmission was shot at 5,000 miles imagine if He didn't Have a Warranty and that's what I was getting at. So, imagine How he felt when His Transmission took a Crap at 5,000 miles You got 101,000 more miles on Yours than He Did.
