Well I had to christen it offroad, working the transfer case, rear locker, and everything works great, w/no issues.
The transmission shifts beautifully, w/no issues. It's a 7 speed, as mentioned, w/one of the gears being a Granny Gear, w/6 regular gears.
On the highway, I got it up to a high...
Well, I went and bought a Full-Grown 😉 Bronco last Saturday, a Silver Black Diamond I have shown below, for $44,510, w/no markups.
The only options it has: The Black Diamond Package, which includes the 17" Black Painted Steel Wheels, w/LT265/70R17 A/T TIRES (32"), a 4.46/Rear Axle-Locking...
I originally wanted to buy a Full-Size Bronco but ended up w/a Baby Bronco Sport (BS), the Badlands Model w/a 2.0 L 4-cylinder engine, due to the lack of the availability of the Full-Size models at the time.
There's nothing wrong w/the BS Sport, outside of perhaps having an automatic...
Well, I went and had my 5K mile oil change done today on my Badlands.
I went with the 5W-30 Amsoil Signature Series Full Synthetic Oil, w/a Napa Platinum oil filer.
Local temperature today was 105F, and it's supposed to be even hotter this weekend.
These BS engines already run fairly hot...
Personal Suggestions
1. Go w/a good quality, 100% Synthetic Oil. Synthetic Oil can handle the hotter temperatures, as well as the higher RPMs of the Turbo, which run at several hundreds of thousands of RPMs. It also has a lower pour point when it comes to low winter temperatures.
2. Use a good...
Any place(s) in the LA area?
Does anyone know if it effects the Ford warranty?
Finally, what about the CV's. They can only be lifted so much w/o damaging them.
Thanks.
I do it myself.
This feature may be cool to have, but the problem w/electronics and these computerized automatic transmissions, when they fail, they do so w/o warning, and w/them goes the entire transmission.
I agree.
Ford does offer the Black Diamond Off-Road Package on their 2023 Outer Banks, which includes an Underbody Protection, but I haven't seen any pictures of it. If it is made up of true Steel Bash Plates, then it would be nice to offer it as a Kit for the other models, especially the Badlands.
Driving locally, w/my 2.0L 4 cylinder, my mileage, using the winter grade fuel, was around 17.3 mpg, where now it just shot up to around 20.3, so the summer grade fuel must be now available.
I haven't done a long trip yet w/the summer grade fuel, but I expect it to go up as well.
With the winter...
- Steel Skid Plates for the Badlands model, and a Ford Approved Kit as well to upgrade existing models.
- Increased lift on the Badlands, w/a Ford Approved Lift Kit for upgrading existing models.
- A manual transmission w/a two speed transfer case.
