Started software update at 9 this morning. Picked up at 2. Noticed oil life showing 3%. It was 80% before the update. The software gremlins did not back up data before updating the software. Took it back. Dealer says now seeing battery voltage issue. 2nd and 3rd update attempts fail. Vehicle left overnight at dealer. Stay tuned. I am so not impressed.
Picked up vehicle next day. Battery voltage issue was a service advisor mis-statement. All systems working and data back at pre-update values. Completed survey today and was brutally honest.

BACKGROUND

After the IPC firmware update, I noticed two things.

1. The My View settings get reset back to factory defaults 1 of 10 vehicle trips. (Previously mentioned)

2. My drivers side window does not stay rolled up all the way. Example, I went to the touchless car wash recently and of course I check all the windows are rolled up. When use the window switch to roll up the windows, it rolls up approximately 1/4 inch, then immediately rolls down 1/4 inch when I release the windows switch. The window did not leak. All the other windows stay all the way up.

QUESTIONS

1. Is this a calibration issue and how do I correct it myself?
2. Or since this is the most used window, there is a mechanical defect or limit switch problem that I need to take to the deal to fix?

Owners manual has the window reset procedure, on mine it is:

Resetting One-Touch Up

Start the engine.
1. Lift and hold the window switch until you fully close the door window. Continue to hold the switch for a few seconds after you close the window.
2. Release the window switch.
3. Press and hold the window switch until you fully open the window.
4. Release the window switch.
5. Lift and hold the window switch until you fully close the window.
6. Test for correct window operation by carrying out the one-touch down and one-touch up features.

IPC resetting to MyView is a known issue affecting all Ford vehicles.

To reprogram the window, turn the truck fully on engine running. Lower window all the way and hold it for 5 seconds after it is all the way down. Then raise the window and hold for 5 seconds once it goes all the way up.

@Dude @rugedraw

Thanks.

I tried the recalibration procedure. It still does the same thing. I overestimated the drop. It was/is closer to an 1/8th of an inch. Maybe I am just noticing it now and it's been doing that all along.

(2025 Sport Big Bend convenience pkg Canada) Thought I'd share on this subject.... got the recall notice for the instrument display just before Christmas, everything was working fine for us, and then suddenly on Dec 31st the vehicle lost connectivity, talked to the FordApp people... got me to press a bunch of buttons...soft resets, hard reset, key cycle... you name it.... they end up saying that the Modem is unresponsive.... since that time we have lots of weird issues popping up with Body Control Module things like the radio staying on all of a sudden even when the door is open for a long time, auto high beams switch over but after significant delay (used to sense oncoming traffic immediately) and even one day the door open chime switched to the old school Ford chime....and then went back to the one that uses the sound system speakers on its own! Needless to say the Ford App on my phone doesn't work at all and is stuck at Dec 31st's last readings.... no remote start or anything. Anyway, I have an appointment at the dealer for Weds Jan 14th (they say all day) and that the dealer thinks the unresponsive modem and BCM issues are all related an this update will take care of it all. I mean.... the vehicle works mostly fine....but it's the bells and whistles we paid for in a modern vehicle.... our last vehicle was a 300,000km 2007 Honda Element that probably would still have kept going...but we figured a modern vehicle with all the fixings and simple things like a backup camera would be the way to go..... hahaha..... only have had the BB since end of Sept. Anyone else experience a sudden unresponsive modem and haunted car glitches? I'll update to see if it's good as new when we get it back.

There is an issue affecting specifically model year 2025 vehicles where the TCU (modem) takes a crap and needs to be replaced. I would ask you to send me the VIN and you can if you want, but if the modem is truly dead, I will not be able to see any codes it is reporting.

It could also be something simple like the TRON encryption getting messed up, but that will only happen after a module update via OTA or done manually.

Because the OTA software for the recall never happened, the dealer sent out their van to do it at my house. That was Tuesday - because I don't drive much the battery was below minimum voltage for the system to download even with his van connected to my battery. Wednesday I put it on a charger and later drove 30 highway miles. Thursday I again drove 30 miles.
Friday he came back, voltage was fine. It downloaded 4 of the 5 software modules but then stopped before the 5th because the Ford servers were having problems. Made an appointment for him to come back next Friday to finish and change my oil. About 15 minutes after he left I noticed the 12V and USB ports were still on. He came back and looked for codes, none. Tried the BMS reset, still problem. I mentioned unplugging the BMI on the battery. That turned them off. Plug it back in they stay on. He called his senior tech - said they hadn't seen that on other downloads.
So need to wait until next Friday to see if the final module downloads anf fixes it.
My first computer was in 1969 - an IBM360 with punch cards and Fortran. Dozens of computers, many languages and a masters in IT later I've learned one thing - every software fix has problems.

I started as a CS/IS major in 1977; programming in Fortran 77, COBOL (using an IBM 026 keypunch; 52-card pickup was for rookies!), some Pascal, and BASIC for dessert. All of which explains why I became a hardware and network guy.

My USB port stays on all the time. Even when the car is not running, it will charge my phone if I plug it into it. Is that not supposed to happen?

Also, I think it's bazaar that they haven't even started producing 2026 Bronco Sports and won't until January, yet they are included in the recall?
The clusters for the 2026 are already made and on the shelf for the 2026's. Parts production for the next model year can begin a early as 6+ months prior to the actual model production.

Update to message #129

The dealer installed the last module of the recall today. It downloaded and installed with no error codes. Plugged the cable in going from the positive terminal to the battery monitor on the negative terminal. 12V and USB ports still live after turning off engine and exiting vehicle. When I unplug the cable they go off a few seconds after the door shuts. The dealer is going to ask Ford why this is happening. Before the software update the battery monitor cable was plugged in and the ports always turned off.

The owners manual says for the usb ports:
You can charge your device through the
charge only USB port when the vehicle is
in accessory mode or when the vehicle is
running.

For the 12V outlet it says it runs when engine is on or in accessory mode. It also says don't leave anything plugged in because it may drain the battery. On my Maverick and BS I had an led light in the outlet and it always turned off until now.

When I got to work today and put my 2025 Bronco Sport in park, I received a message on the center display that an update had downloaded and would be installed early tomorrow morning. The details showed that it was the Instrument Cluster update, and installing the update satisfies the recall.

So for those of you that haven't gone to the dealer yet for the Instrument Cluster recall, the update is now coming through OTA.
