I have an OBX and the 18" fits but to secure it I needed a longer LJ6Z-17091-C Lug wrench stud that comes with the Badlands. I believe the pic is the shorter lug. I do like the wheel front up to check air pressure easier but even turned around with the jack , the original stud was still too short on a OBX wheel, anyway.

The 235 is 0.4 inches wider and 0.5 inches larger diameter than the 225/65R17 spare on my Badlands. I assume the space is the same on the Big Bend. Just looking, I don't think it would be a problem to fit the larger tire. That is what I plan to do when these tires wear out.

Yes. Similar to @rocks , I 3D printed a new nut to allow the use of a standard Badlands wheel with the 235/65-17 tire. Fits in the well perfectly other than having a full size spare requires your floor to be placed in the upper position.

I have a 245/65/17 in the back of mine. It's snug though so i only use the nut and bolt to hold my jack. Spare wheel and tie don't rattle at all.

The concern would be having it become airborne in an accident. Did you have to remove the padding/insulation? That was my understanding with the 245 but my 235 fits fine so the slightly larger 245 should too but I don’t have that experience.

There was no insulation in mine. It just fits very snug. I have to work pretty hard to get it out so I'm not worried about it coming out in an accident. Plus there's the floor board on top of it.

OP did you ever make this happen?

It's almost time for me to get new tires and I'm looking at 235/65/R16 size. I'm planning to purchase an extra Big Bend wheel to use as the spare. I don't mind putting it on the upper level but I don't want to pull out the foam or do any other adjustments.

Just to let you know I just tried with a FALKEN WILDPEAK A/T4W Tire size 235/65R17 on the Badlands 17ā€ spare time rim (which came with the Pirelli 225/65R17) - without trimming foam or letting air out the Falken would not fit. Was too tight against the foam.
Update: But I see you want to use 16ā€ so my info wasn’t helpful

Good to know. And yeah, I meant 17" wheel. Did it look like it would be good to fit if you took out some of the foam?

What are you going to do with the spare and extra tire? If it's not going to fit, I don't know if I want to take out foam. It also might not be worth carrying around with me on a day to day basis. Maybe with my hour commute every day, I should carry it. If I had a flat on the way to work, I can just swap them out and go about my day.

The Falkan I mentioned as a spare would fit fine by trimming some foam - the falkan tire height is handled by raising the rear hatch Cargo Mat to the upper position where I keep it anyway

I ended up keeping the Pirelli 225 as the spare

That’s odd, mine fit without any issues. See my post earlier.

I’m not sure why @Dude had to trim the foam. My Badlands wheel with a 235/65-17 AT3w worked without issue. See my post #3 above.

Did you use the FALKEN WILDPEAK A/T4W Tire size 235/65R17 (not the optional Falken tires for ā€˜21’-ā€˜24 but the newer and heavier tire)

I didn’t trim but to fit as a spare for my 2022 badlands trimming would have been needed on that tire mounted on the spare rim and filled to 35 psi so I chose to put the factory supplied Pirelli 225 back as the spare
