Thinking about new tires. I assume a 235/65-17 will fit in the Badlands spare area.

Before buying the Badlands, I test drove a new Passport Trailsport Elite with General Grabber AT Sport tires and they were very loud even at lower speeds. That, I don't want. I guess Falkens, Toyo, BF Goodrich etc would be the same.

Keep in mind that any aggressive A/T tread pattern will produce more noise. I don’t know of any uniform comparison tests or reviews looking at that aspect; added noise is such a given that it’s likely not seen as worth measuring.

Try looking at the BFG Trail-Terrain T/A, it appears that it may be a fair balance between manners and performance.

So true. The tire howl from those Generals on that Passport was way too much for me even at 35 MPH. I've been doing research on tire noise and you are correct. All the aggressive tread tires had a higher noise rating vs the Pirelli's. I was just looking for the bigger tire look, as I don't go off road.
I'm not a Bridgestone fan but I will look into that model.

You might want to check the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail. Not much, if any, louder than the Michelins that came stock.

Interesting. The Michelins were quiet on a OBX I owned. Maybe the Falken AT Trail may be the same or a bit louder than the Pirelli's.

The OEM Falkens are pretty quiet. Look at the edge, the rounder generally the quieter. The new Goodyear on the Sasquatch look like they’d be quieter. Generally, that is a requirement in the OEM tires. The Falkens AT3w’s that were OEM are not as aggressive looking but are quiet.

The Goodyears aren't exactly quiet. I can hear them at all speeds, even with the windows up and a/c running. That being said, I don't find them particularly annoying, I've run much noisier tires on past rigs. I can see, however, where they may still be too much for those that want a more "dignified" ride.

I agree that the edge pattern where it breaks over to the sidewall is a major contributor. For reference, here's that point on mine:

For comparison, here is a tire pic for the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W 235/65R17 (Item number 28841790) which is a follow-on from the OE Falken Wildpeak AT3w 235/65R17 (OE part# 59000690)

Weight increases from 31 lbs for the OE Falken Wildpeak AT3w 235/65R17 (OE 59000690) to 38.2 lbs for the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W 235/65R17 (28841790)

And for those that had OEM Pirelli 225/65R17 that is +13 lbs per tire to switch to the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W 235/65R17 (28841790)

For reference the 2025 OE Goodyear tire comes in at 29.5 lbs per tire

Like for 2025 Goodyear tires, the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W 235/65R17 (Item number 28841790) do make some noise, ā€˜can hear them at all speeds, even with the windows up and a/c running’ but is not bad

Tire noise was not a consideration when I selected new tires a year ago and at that time the Goodyear tires used on 2025 models (without the Wrangler logo) were not available

If I had to decide today I might go with the Goodyear tire because of the 29.5 lbs weight but based on info located last summer I do have concerns on how long the Goodyear tire will last on Bronco Sports vs the Falken

38.2 lbs is a lot of extra weight. I'm leaning toward the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails. I'm going to wait a while. Maybe until the cool weather rebate season.

Just to confirm …are you referring to Falken Wildpeak A/T Trails not the OE Falken Wildpeak AT3w 235/65R17 (OE 59000690)?
