2025 models don't have integrated keyless entry keypad anymore, and instead they have a dealer installed ugly plastic stick on box. I had the dealer not stick it on the door and just give it to me.

I have seen many posts and videos of relocating the keyless keypad to the inside of the fuel door on the full size Bronco and it looks like that will work on the Sport. But I have concerns about fuel vapors messing with the electronics and shortening the life - not working just when you need it most. Any thoughts on this?

I also think it will fit under the rear camera facing downwards - since I always seem to lift the tailgate by just continuing to lift the area with the door button instead of moving to the flat part under the camera, this seems like a good place too.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

All 2025’s have Ford Intelligent Access (keyless entry), so a keypad is redundant. With the fob in your pocket or purse you just touch the inside of either front door handle and it unlocks. Lock by touching the top of either door handle. The tailgate and rear window unlock by just pressing the button.

I hate carrying things in my pocket and would love to be able to leave the key in the car (along with my phone at times). I tested it and you don't even need a faraday bag to lock the key inside.

People calling the keypad redundant, I disagree. I know of people who put the keys in the vehicle and then lock/unlock with the keypad (not something I'd recommend personally, but if the keys are out of sight, not obvious to a thief). I also will sometimes go out to my vehicle without grabbing my keys or wearing pants/pajamas without pockets and punch in the code to get something from/put something in my vehicle.

Very disappointed that Ford removed the Securicode keypad from future years of the BS... the aftermarket is $, has a fixed life battery that eventually dies, and does not have the clean integrated look.

Ford still offers the Illuminated Keyless Entry Pad. You have to purchase it through the Ford website as an aftermarket add on.

If you have it installed it is about $300 for part and labor. If you have Ford points it is a nice option to use those on. I have had this installed on both of my Bronco Sports. Picture on the website is a little deceiving. Numbers are actually red not blue. Well worth it and it is more streamlined than the box option they provide.

I have the integrated system on my 2022 BB and I've never used it!?
Cheers!
Same here when I had my '23 OBX. A nice feature when needed, though. The stick on keypad is ugly as hell.

Do you have a 2025 model? It is listed is not compatible with the 2025 model on the website. Though that would be an absolutely preferrable option, I imagine that the internal wiring was deleted. You have to take the entire door apart including removing the glass to check, so I am not going to go through the hassle unless I hear from someone that they actually have it on their 2025.

Ah, sorry I don't. 2024 model. That would be such a bummer if they stopped it for the 2025. Maybe someone at a local Ford dealer would know? I guessing since they have those features on the FordPass app they might be phasing it out.

Actually, I live in a city so I rarely travel by personal vehicle, and have code or card locks on my house and work, so carrying a bulky key is something I am not used to, and don't like. Plus, I don't have a garage and like coopny, I often want something from the vehicle when I am walking by and don't have the key. I have ford pass app, but sometimes I don't have or want to carry my phone, or I worry that would fail for some reason without the key, so I want a backup.

So, as I said in my post, I am looking for feedback on an alternate location for the ugly keyless entry keypad for the 2025 model, and would appreciate it if anyone had any thoughts on that.

I have noticed a number of differences in the '25 wiring from '21-'24. I suspect the pigtail in the LHS door was deleted for '25, thus eliminating ability to install a '21-'24 b-pillar illuminated keypad.

The following link lists the Ford models, years, frequencies, and keypad part numbers.

I haven't read someone successfully programming it with FORScan.
I think you either need the dealer to program it, or buy FDRS license and compatible OBD dongle.

How do these keypads work? Is it wired or does it operate the same as a fob, talking to the car by radio waves or however it communicates.
The fob has about a 3 foot range-putting the keypad on the rear hatch may not work. Best try it out before you mount it.

Will it fit on a roof rail?
