They are offering $29,500.00 for my 2023 Outer Banks trade, Employee pricing, and $1000.00 loyalty customer incentive.

Have not seen what they are asking for the 2025 Outer Banks, nor have I seen their interest rate yet.
I assume that's before what you owe on the vehicle although the number does seem high. I'd try to find out how much the 2025 actually is if you're getting all that and the payment is actually increasing. You can always add a warranty 10 months from now. I can't imagine you need tires at 15k though. What!?

No to the tires, but thinking yes within the next 36K of driving it, With a new OB, I'd not have to worry about it.

Maybe the Gladiator to get a small truck bed could be a choice for me if this so called deal they are presenting to me is a bum scam to get me in; after all, this dealer played with me twice when I attempted to move up to a Bronco.

When in doubt, just remember one thing: The house always wins.
You have made 24 Payments on your current car, plus any down payment you made when purchasing.

Now your payment is going up $49. per month for how many months, 72 or 84?

Let's say your payment it only $450 now, that is 450 times the 24 payments, plus the 500 per month for the new financing that your re-extend for when you re-finance the new car.

That will be $12,000 for additional 24 payments that you extend for and the, let's say 48 months of base payments with $50 per month added to them for another $2400 in increase, plus the base of $500 per month for a whole bunch …
hey now … no one likes to think about things like that when trading in and buying a new car .. it is real money though

Let’s get back to the color of the new car ..

Make a list or two. The first list is what you don't like about your '23 BS. Then what do you like? Next, you need to find out the real numbers for the deal. Pick everything you may ever want out of the new BS. Ask for it. I read that the new warranty is $2500. That is the comparison number. How much will the new change cost you? That sounds like $15000 (plus 5 years of payments). That is a lot extra to pay for just another BS.
As for me, I love the BS OB. But, there are some things I had to give up because I switched from a F150 Lariat. I also have a '13 Jeep GC. I sort of like the Jeep better for power, roominess, load capacity, and weight (our scuba/beach car). But that is not the point of my BS. I needed to downsize and get better fuel efficiency. I needed another 20-year vehicle. I also liked the look. So, what do you really really want in a new car? If it were me, I would probably keep the 23 BS and go to Enterprise car sales and see what I can get to cover my other needs or desires.

I wouldn't buy another new vehicle. CarFax valued my 24 OBX at $28,300 it only has a little over 3600 miles.

As my first post pointed out, my warranty expires in less than 9 months. I can either pay $2500.00 for the extended warranty, or think of trading it in.

The letter was verified via a phone call to the dealer sales manager. I'll stop by for the heck of it, prepared to walk out if its a gimmick.

We are also considering a Jeep Gladiator, as I sold my truck awhile back, and we have been missing its functionality.
I know you're aware of this, but just for the sake of discussion, there is of course a 3rd option -- keep the BS OB and don't buy an extended warranty. The underwriter always wins. They have all of the data on parts prices, failure rates, etc.

Nothing is guaranteed. Any random vehicle owner with an extended warranty might end up being a 'winner', but the chance of being a loser is far greater.

Being self-insured whenever possible is the way to go.

On the Gladiator, Jeep has had rock bottom reliability for years. You might consider something else.

Waiting on my Lighting to be delivered. Do you prefer the Lighting or the Sport?

The only thing keeping me from getting an EV of some sort is the recharging speed. We go on long road trips and I just can’t spend 30+minutes every 300 miles recharging.

I understand and agree. Lighting is an extra vehicle for us. Any far road trips we take my wife’s Explorer. It does help that Ford EVs can use Tesla supercharger network now

For the original post, my .02, if you want a new 25 BS then consider the offer provided by your dealer. I would shop around and get a few quotes to see if the extra $49 is a good deal. Have a feeling it isn’t great and you could beat it.

If you really don’t want a new BS and are only considering this because the payment is similar to your current payment, then don’t do it. Have a feeling you would rather swap your current BS out for a different vehicle. Wish you well in your search and decision.

not always, I have always got my money's worth from an extended warranty. now when you figure that out it is at retail pricing. for example with my truck the extended warranty was 3000 bucks, I had what would have cost me over 9000 worth of work done. now at the discounted pricing for parts and labour the warranty pays it probably only cost them 4000 but they made interest off my money also.

on my BS I drive 30000 miles a year for work and I got a 120 000 mile warranty on it. I plan on having a new engine before that one is over haha

One reason of many why many do not have an interest in EVs and their resale value drops like a rock.

I would completely agree with this. Until maybe 2015 or 2018. At the risk of sounding like the high pressure finance guy... sometime around then, bad light bulbs started costing $500-$2000 to fix. For sure the rates are set so the underwriter wins. It used to be 1 in 100 would have some catastrophic issues and be the big warranty winner with head rebuilds, etc. Now it feels like there can be many small jackpot winners simply because repairs are so out of control. I forget the exact terms of the warranty I bought. It was something like +5 years and around $2900 bucks; $0 deductible. That's a lot of peace of mind because car repairs are also a lot harder to self-effect than previous. I could probably replace a headlight, but I couldn't repair, oh say, a failed Turbo. Even a wheel bearing isn't very fun and I bet that would be $500 to avoid the labor.
