I know the size of the speakers and placement etc. No idea how the sound doesn’t bother anyone else. Vocals/highs in front and muddy mids/bass from doors back. Is like sitting between them. If you’ve ever heard someone speaking on a PA system and their levels are really dim compared to the background. That’s what I get. If you open the windows at all the vocals are barely audible until it’s turned up and starts to distort around 20. Low volume can’t hear shit, turn it up it distorts and then sounds like shit. There’s no audibly pleasing sound level. And can’t compare to anything else since I’m the only one around that has a BL. The few others I’ve seen are all base models. Maybe it’s just how Ford does their eq/dsp and sound systems. I didn’t think Edge st sounded that good either but didn’t lose all definition of sound with windows cracked either.

Honestly, it sounds like you have a bad system. You should really push the issue with Ford and your dealer.

Been following this thread for a bit, being a little nervous at the disappointment I might feel once my premium badlands was in my hands.

Been driving my new badlands for about two weeks now. I’m pleasantly surprised with the B&O. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not downright amazing but I had somewhat low expectations based on some of these responses. I’m not an audiophile but I do like my music cranked when by myself and the 22-23 range sounds really nice in my opinion. Yes it could use more bass and the subwoofer def seems underwhelming but all in all I’m quite happy. You may be too. Just my 2c.

I was refraining from writing on the b&o system, until I had a few hundred miles of listening to it with different music. I even went from the base bronco sport, totalled now, to the b&o badlands. It was night and day difference between the two. The head unit is definitely holding back and rolling off the mid bass. Which is why I use the lc2i pro, with 12 inch sub. The lc2i pro, with accubass, helps with the midbass roll off. That when you splice the speaker wires, it allows you to control inpedence, because I believe the voltage drop in splicing speakers, effects the head unit equalization. In fact anybody that is modifying the b&o system, should consider a LOC with accubass, at the very least. Unless, your amp has those features. With all that said, I agree with you. Alice in chains, is too snarie, the midbass sucks, and the bass roll off, is horrible. Which in all, is why I upgraded.

Also, I believe, on my volume level, 10 should be at 1, and so on. I feel they scaled the volume level wrong, like any under the level 10 is unnecessary, can't hear. The level between 10 and 13, should be more spread out. Above 13, the bass rolls off from factory unit, so basically the louder the more distortion and not so good midbass. Another note be sure to turn off the volume control, under speed or stopping, that can effect the sound. I don't know exactly what it called.

There was a recall on your year model vehicle with the b&o system. Go to your Ford dealership to have it fix. I'm not experiencing any of your issues to me this has the right amount of bass and music out put. I paid the extra 995 to have this system on my Sasquatch sport.

@Robs Sasquatch .. I’m not aware of any Recall on the B&O System for Bronco Sports, please provide the Recall #

(Just did a google search for that and nothing came up)

Why would B&O agree to put their branding on a car audio system that, according to some, is pretty bad?
because the "some" that complain are very few compared to the number that are happy with it. I find it a huge step up over the stock 6 speaker setup int he bronco sport.

B&O has their fingers into a lot of things now like laptop sound setups, to ford audio setups, but there is always going to be someone who likes their sound so different that B&O doesn't appeal to them, along with any other pre-setup system like JBL, Bose, etc. and unfortunately when you look on the internet people who are unhappy with something post multiple times, where people who are happy tend not to post.

… is also because the B&O branded system at least in the ‘21-‘24 Bronco Sports uses inferior speakers - there are many posts with the speaker pics on this topic

Here are a few…

I'm glad you are happy with the sound of the B&O system in your BS. There is some "personal preference" when it comes to audio equipment/sound for sure. However, I (and a lot of others) have found that with the volume higher than 10, the rattles were unbearable. Changing the speakers and damping out the rattles changed the system into something I can actually enjoy. Others have found the same thing. I don't see this as an "audiophile" level system even after making improvements, but it is for sure not even close without the improvements. If you ever have the opportunity to listen to a B&O system that has been "fixed" by the owner, you might be surprised at the difference.

not sure where you read I was totally happy with it or I was saying it was high end. all I said is it was a big step up from the 6 speaker base setup. I used to spend thousands doing custom stereos in everything I owned, now at my age, with my truck and now this Bronco sport, I just find something acceptable and roll with it. I am sure speaker upgrades and sound dampening will make a huge difference, just the deadening alone would do wonders. my older truck I removed the whole interior and dyno-mated (well it wasn't dyno-mat but a replacement that worked just as good at 1/8th the cost) everything from the dash to the back wall under the window, and doors. (I had to replace the carpet so I decided just to do a layer of that under the carpet)

Yep, I've done stereo upgrades to vehicles in the past and spent more time and money than anyone really should.

In this case, I think around $400 in speakers and "mastic" (dynamat copy), with a few hours of my time really transformed the stereo. I later went a step further and replaced the "subwoofer" with a better 6X9. That's it for me, I'm happy with it now.

I actually pulled out some old tuning tracks I used to use when I was young, overall I was happy with the B&O setup, but there were a few areas I would improve if I was still young or had spare money to blow on stuff like that haha.

I found the overall volume adequate , but not as loud as I would like it. it can cancel the road noise with the window cracked. I was impressed with how the system handled mid range modulation, but I was disappointed with the base. it is balanced but I find it doesn't handle to lower frequencies or reproduce the very low ones at all. I think the loudness of the system overall is because they have it set so you can go full volume with no drop off in sound quality (I was listening at 30) any of my previous setups "max" volume would make your ears blead haha. so I was surprised. I would say my sony system in my 2014 F350 platinum is louder, and the base response much better than the B&O in my bronco sport but it is still adequate at my age and priorities now.

The volume was at 30 with no distortion, rattles, buzzing etc?
