The volume was at 30 with no distortion, rattles, buzzing etc?
That was not even remotely possible with my B&O system in the BL. He must have gotten a special build.

yup. it hit me kind of funny, but I have seen systems setup like that before. they put a false limit in the head unit and then adjust the gain on the amps so full volume is clear where in reality you are at 70%

the B&O in the badlands is an option so maybe they don't change the factory 6 speakers when they add the other 4, you would think they do but did it get missed? I have some more playing around to do with mine, but so far the only buzzing I get is on am radio when a certain tone of voice is talking. I get no door rattling or anything, honestly so far the only thing I am disappointed with is the actual volume, but it works good enough I wouldn't complain. yes it could use speaker upgrades and maybe an quality amp that will handle/give more power and custom cross overs and a better woofer so you can "tune" it for your ear, but to me it is a beater commuting car as I drive an hour to work each way and the miles on it are going to kill the car before I ever get the moneys work on a " nice to have" upgrade. to me there was a ton of difference in the stock 6 speaker and the B&O which is why I got the B&O. I'm starting to get old and don't need to reglue my rear view mirror back on every week haha

To each his own. If I were spending 2 hours per day in the vehicle, I would be willing to invest in some new speakers (less than $250) to have some quality sound 10 hours/week. Maybe you got a unicorn there with no rattles, but even then the difference in sound quality for mine was pretty serious. You could do all the things you listed for improvements but I agree that would be overkill. Just replacing 4 door speakers and getting several steps up in sound quality is a simple answer for me (and at least a few others). Oh yeah, I'm not "young" anymore either. Think Apollo 11 old!

I’ve said it before that this system does not sound good. 22BS BL. The sound stage is odd af. Like the singer is in a field in front of you and band is behind you. It isn’t very pleasing to the ears audibly. No matter what setting, format, source etc it still sounds muted and muddled.
Ford and B&O claim 560 watts to 10 speakers. Even if you go high on wattage for the speakers at 25 watts per speaker and 50 watts for the “sub” you’re at 275 watts max. So 140 watts probs. I understand rms vs max etc. Just making a point.
My Tacoma had 400 watts and was twice as loud and had half the speakers. And could hear it with the windows down, even at highway speeds turned a 1/3 the way up.
This POS system is barely audible at town speeds with the windows open. At 12 you cannot understand what is being said. So have to have it up to 15-18. I can have a conversation with someone sitting next to me at this level. Anything above it distorts. I had to check to make sure there were actually speakers in the back.
You get clearer vocals through the dash speakers and all the rest are muddy sounding.
Here’s B&O literature on it.

Tuning
The Ford Bronco Sport has undergone static and dynamic sound tuning to ensure that the listening experience in a stationary state is maintained while driving, regardless of the conditions.
I don’t have that. I know I’m the minority here with this, but is my most hated thing on this. It sounds that bad
If the system is set to run at 2 ohms instead of 4 it could be a 500watt system but my wife's 2025 BS/OB B&O system is no where near as loud or as clean sounding as the B&O in my 2019 Edge ST. Hers doesn't sound bad just not as good. But nothing like you explained
