The smooth flares look great! Are you running spacers? We are planning on doing the smooth flares also. Thinking about doing 2" spacers in the rear and 1.5" in the front to help avoid rubbing when turning.

This looks amazing! Is this the 245? I found a 265/65/17 that will fit on my stock rim with a 1.5" lift. But wondering if it is going to rub? Have you gone to the 255 yet?

No, I have not gone to a 255 or 265 tire. It is a bad idea. The tire is not just wider but also larger in diameter. If you want wider, you are going to have to go down in aspect ratio, probably to a 60 or 55. Basically, you want to have a tire less than 30" in diameter meaning closer to 29.5" maximum. Try www.tiresize.com to get an idea of how changing width also changes diameter. When you think you have a size that you like, start looking to see what is available on the market. Some sizes are only made by a few tire companies and in limited tire models, so you are left painting yourself into a corner. Also, the listed tire size is not an exact science. A tire might be a little bigger/smaller than what the numbers suggest, so be very careful trying to push the limit.

Adding a spacer makes rubbing worse, not better. The way to think about is turn your wheel all the way to one side and then think about the tire being further away from the hub. The rubbing happens at full lock and some compression at the rear of the front wheel well where the pinch weld is (behind the felt liner). Three things make rubbing more prominent/possible: Lower wheel offset and/or spacers, wider tires, & larger diameter tires. Changing any one of these things puts you closer to a rubbing situation.

There is a limit on the BS and as I stated above that limit is just over 29.5" diameter in stock trim. A lift does not change this limit, at least at the small lift limits we work with.

thanks for all the info! My daughter wants her BS to look bigger and I am trying to figure out how I can widen the stance and make it look bigger. Doing the the fender flares, lift and bigger tires seamed like a good way to go and thought the spacers would help. Maybe we will do a 255/60. That is a 29" tire but a little wider. I wonder if I can still run spacers to give it even a wider stance. I would like to try and get it flush with the the new fender flares, or at least pretty close.

My tires are 245’s and I have a 20mm spacer but also the wheels are offset at 30mm, instead of 38 at stock. A 255 tire with a 20mm spacer would put the tire just about flush with the flares, like mine, and at 29” you should be pretty safe in regards to rubbing.

This is my wife's 2022 BB with the Rough Country 1.5" strut and spring lift (not the spacer lift), stock wheels with a 1 inch spacer and Nitto 245/65-17 Ridge Grapplers. It also has the Air Designs fender flares and door moldings.

It only rubs a tiny bit on the fender liner on the driver side by where your foot would be... and only when turned and flexed. Which could probably be fixed by bending over the pinch weld under the liner.

i think the air design flares are the best looking and best match to factory plastics. but I cant use the larger factory mud guards with them, which i like for protection.

Looks amazing!!! I was thinking about doing a 265/60 because it’s a little wider and not as tall but these 245s with the one inch spacer look perfect! Thanks for all the photos!!! I will post some before and after when we get done.

Nope, they are also 16". I wanted a bronze rim in 16", thought bronze would look good with the alto blue and I wanted 16" so I could get more sidewall.

Not too many rims fit that description in a 5x108 with a ~30 offset haha. Especially at a decent price.

As mentioned previously, I was planning to go with Nokian wheels but they were just out of stock for too long.

I also have the HRG 1.5" level kit installed.
