Has anyone noticed a change in engine performance after the above recall was completed on your BS? I have notice an immediate increase in acceleration and torque while driving home from the dealership. It was like driving a different vehicle. I only have 2783 miles on my Badlands. I noticed this on my 2014 F150 FX4 when the dealer manually adjusted the settings for the transmission due to hard shifting issues. It also hard more acceleration as well as a lot more torque. Just curious.

Perhaps due to the transmission controller was reset and the transmission is in a relearn cycle

From what is known about recall 24S24, the calibration changes shouldn’t change engine performance but who knows

Even after the relearn cycle, mine has been downshifting rough. I have another oil change coming up and will discuss it with the dealership. It definitely wasn't doing this before.

Anything that seems like a transmission shudder? Several had that happen after recall 24S24.

not sure if it is shudder or not. sometimes feels like it is slam into lower gears. A few times I have even heard what sounds like linkage slamming. hard to describe

Just is very odd that a number of owners have experienced transmission issues after recall 24S24 was performed.

In regards to the transmission being in a relearn cycle, it is wrong to consider that when you have a service or repair that requires the computer to be reset that this automatically sends the transmission into this mode?

It’s not automatic but on recall 24s24 it’s shown in the procedure, doesn’t say why it’s just one of the steps. And I asked the Tech but he didn’t know why, he just followed the procedure.

I noticed no changes, good or bad after the recall was performed.

I believe anytime the PCM software is updated it puts the transmission into the learning mode.

Yeah, mine seems smoother and more responsive. Seems to even be more “quiet”, like it’s not working as hard when accelerating. Don’t know if any of that is real — or just me thinking Ford’s “fix” has improved my BS . . . Probably just me ?

So if you have a vacation planned in 2 weeks and you're driving the BS on said vacation (about a 3-4 hour drive to get there), would you have your recall done before or after vacay? Don't need any problems on the trip......

I didn't notice a difference immediately but took a trip on the interstate last week and my gas mileage went up like 5 mpg!
Would that be related also???!
I have been SO disappointed in my gas mileage.
On hwy I have been getting about 24 mpg and interstate is about 19! Horrible- husband says it's bc of the 3 cylinder. Can't keep up with the speed/rpm shift.....

But since the update at dealership I got up to 29 on interstate.........and I reset and checked 3 x

Back home on hwy it was still about 24 or so

I. Am. Thrilled.

Just had mine done as well. My service advisor warned me about the reset prior to departure and stated it's back in learn mode.
