Interesting … the ‘22 OM does not mention full size Bronco in that section

REAR OCCUPANT ALERT SYSTEM LIMITATIONS

The system does not detect the presence of objects or passengers in the rear seat.

It monitors when rear doors are opened and closed.

Note: It is possible to receive an alert when there is no rear seat occupant, but alert conditions are met.

Note: It is possible to receive no alert when there is an occupant in the rear seat, if alert conditions are not met. For example, if a rear seat occupant does not enter the vehicle through a rear door.

Note: The audible warning does not sound when the front door is opened before you switch the ignition off.

When you turn it off in settings, it stays that way for 6 months I believe then you'll have to do it again. An easy fix for a nice feature that's made to prevent kids and animals getting left in the car.
useless in my opinion…I don’t want an extra sensor that now thinks my backpack is a passenger and need a seatbelt - probably the most annoying one in my BS…

I just want the option to fully disable it and ignore all “alert” conditions…

The 2024 Owners Manual does not mention the full size Bronco, but the reference to removal of doors makes me believe that this was a cut and paste job by Ford, using the full size Bronco Owners Manual for this section.

Pathetic that people have to be reminded not to leave a child or pet in the car.

Way too many news reports where a child or pet dies due to heat because they were left behind. When asked, the parent or pet owner states they forgot, or were only running into the store for a minute.

Yes it is pathetic. But it happens far too often. Which is why they added this feature.

I have a '22 BS OBX and this feature has been turned off for over 2 yrs. I have never seen any reminders that it is turned off.

We have ours turned off, to me it is an annoying thing. How can you forget you have your pet or your kid in the vehicle?
I thought the same thing and was yapping away about it over dinner until my dinner guests said they knew someone who left their infant in the car all day and the child died! Apparently the child fell asleep in the back seat, the woman had an important meeting. The couple had made a last minute switch as to their regular who drops off kid for daycare schedule. Horrifying true story.

Yes, it is. Something very similar happened here in my local area a few years back. The wife usually dropped the baby because the daycare was closer to her work. Her car had to go to the shop, so they moved the baby seat to the other car, and the husband with the baby followed the wife to the shop, then dropped her at work. He was supposed to drop the baby on his way to work, but he got an urgent work call about a patient (he was a physician) just before he dropped off his wife and got distracted. The baby was sleeping and he totally forgot.
