I can empathize with your issues with Ford because of my own issues I am currently having with them regarding the paint wearing and worn through on my vehicle from opening and closing the doors on my badlands. I read Ford's warranty coverage and found a section that states that there is an arbitration process that you can go through with them. If you are interested, it is called the "BBB Auto Line". There is no cost to consumers and Ford agrees to the resolution that is decided by the arbitrator. You can find all of the details at bbbprograms.org
Within the first month of owning the 2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend the transmission failed. We were forced to take it to the dealership in Medford Oregon two times, and finally they replaced the transmission. After getting Ford involved, the stealership finally agreed to provide a rental car. If I remember correctly, the BS was in the shop for over a month.

Fast forward to about a month ago and we ended up getting the blank screen issue on the radio. After trying everything mentioned on here, the screen was still not fixed. Ford ironically had just reached out to us (prior to the screen issue) and scheduled a home visit to fix an unrelated recall. My wife contacted the local stealership several days prior to the appointment and was told the tech would check the screen issue. I also spoke with Ford on this forum and they said I could follow up with them after the appointment regarding the screen issue.

The tech showed up on the 20th and had no idea about the screen problem. They told us we would need to bring the vehicle in to have it "diagnosed". We contacted the stealership again and they told us they had informed their tech about the screen issue and did not know why he did not know about it. They told us the vehicle would need to be brought to the stealership and it would take five days for them to "diagnose" the issue. We asked if they would provide a rental vehicle and they said they would not because we didn't have the "extended warranty". I reached out to Ford on here again (twice) and they are not replying to my messages.

My wife is a home health Nurse and needs her vehicle to do her job. We contacted Ford again and they said we needed to take it to a Ford Lincoln dealer for the screen and the rental would be covered. We dropped the vehicle off this morning at the local Lincoln dealership and they told us it should be done by next Friday. When asked about the rental, the service advisor told us Ford would not reimburse us because they were a Lincoln dealership. They did however tell us they could fix the problem under warranty. Lincoln was the only place we could get the vehicle fixed in time before the mileage exceeded the warranty. Other local Ford dealers were a week or two out.

We ended up getting rental for my wife to use until the BS is fixed. It sounds like we will not be reimbursed for this now.

On a side note, I have grown up being a Ford enthusiast. My Father sold Ford vehicles for over twenty years and I have had several trucks myself. My wife has had two Explorers an Edge and now this BS. I was excited when we decided to purchase the Bronco and looked forward to having another Ford vehicle. After this experience, I am sorry to say Ford has completely dropped the ball. The lack of reasonable customer service and reliability issue with this vehicle has changed my opinion of Ford. My wife wants to sell the BS in the next six months or so and says she will never own another Ford vehicle.

I sincerely hope others don't experience what we have with their BS. I really appreciate everyone on this forum that have given input and advice over the years.

If anyone has any ideas/recommendation on a similar size SUV that is reliable and manufactured by someone other than Ford, I would greatly appreciate the help.

"Extreme ignorance" and proper English just doesn't go as well together as proper manners and the latter.

Bless his heart.

I think its some sports have problems and large numbers of them are issue free. But majority of dealers have lousy service, not all, but most of them.

My neighbor has a fleet of Fords he knows of one dealer that has good service in my area. The other dozen or so dealers terrible service. One has to ask around find that one that has a good service dept. You can't just willy nilly go to just any Ford dealer the odds are against you getting anything fixed at most of them.

Sounds like original posters sport was bought used so who knows what its history was?
We purchased the vehicle brand new in Idaho.

It just seems like customer service is a thing of the past now.

Could be the Raptor R, they're like $115k new, and you never know with dealer markups nowadays. I've seen a couple going for around $150k online
I'm sure. But still feels a bit embellished ... even to go from 150 to 175. Or even to say 175? I mean, does the guy enjoy advertising that he burns money? ?‍♂

If I had 200K floating around, I'd buy two of the F150 EV's.

NOT!

FOr a person who just purchased a new Bronco Sport this thread is a bit disturbing, but since I've owned my F150 for 24 years I like Ford.

There are always negative Nancies around bashing various car makers. Some don't like BMW, I love them. Some like Toyotas, I hate them.

The dealer I dealt with was great and their service department has always been good to my F150.

I’m glad to hear you found a great dealership and sincerely hope you and other members don’t experience what we have with our BS and Ford. It does make it difficult to go through what we have with a manufacturer and dealership without getting to this point. I know there are much worse stories out there, I am just fed up with the lack of customer service. I truly believe it has gotten significantly worse since Covid, and not just the auto industry.

On a positive note; the Lincoln dealership that fixed the Bronco had pretty impress service. They even washed the vehicle for her. That put a smile on her face (this is a very good thing ;)

We purchased our 2021 BS/BB 1 hour south of us in N.C. because none of the local dealerships had one in stock in a color my wife wanted. We have it serviced at the local dealership 10 minutes from us & have never asked if we purchased it from them or give us any problem when we need work done on it. I worked for 25 years in various jobs in new car dealerships for most of the major manufacturers & mostly all of them have the service advisors ask if the customers bought the cars from them. I never understood this practice, what difference does it matter where they bought it? Business coming in is making money for the dealership no matter where the owner bought it.

My experience majority of Ford dealers have absolute terrible service even before COVID. Most of them either don't care, are incompetent, or combination of the two. But there are some, not many, that have good service. My father in law had a local Lincoln dealer do warranty work on his Mustang. He won't take his car anywhere else he is thrilled with the service from that dealer.

So yeah we are gonna get ppl chime in here I love Ford my dealer is great because there are good ones out there. But most Ford dealers do not want to do warranty work and just hope you go away and never come back.

This. ^^

On almost all forums (not just this one) there are people with a variety of experiences. Most are valid.

Unfortunately, when forum members post about a negative experience, there are frequently one or more members who, instead of being understanding/sympathetic, seem to take delight in relaying their 'most excellent' service experience, in which everyone everyone at the dealership was friendly and competent; they were given a new vehicle of their choice as a loaner; the repair work was done early; their vehicle was thoroughly detailed; and they were given a foot massage.

Some who report positive experiences are just trying to provide a counter-point, but others are contrary by nature, fanboys/girls, or outright trolling.

If a person has something bad happen in their life, like having their dog die at an early age because of cancer, the last thing they want to hear is, "Well, MY dog is 12 years old and still plays catch! You just picked the wrong puppy. Sucks to be you.

Yes, there are some good dealers but they are the exception that proves the rule.
