Goodbye to Area 51?

The 2024 Ford Bronco Sport will drop three colors that had been offered since its launch for the 2021 model year: Alto Blue Metallic, Area 51, and Cyber Orange Metallic. For 2023, all three colors are widely available on Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands. Similarly, the 2024 Ford Maverick dropped those paint options as well. The compact pickup is produced alongside the Bronco Sport at the Hermosillo Assembly plant. Other vehicles in Ford’s portfolio have also dropped Cyber Orange too, such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Ford Ranger.

Saw this on my Ford Authority daily email. I'm surprised since I thought Area 51 was a best seller.

I have the Area 51 and love it! Maybe the value will be higher when I go to sell it since it's discontinued.

I can't believe there isn't a single color Ford can get right on the configuration tool. Some of the cars are better in reality and some are worse. Either way, false expectations.

Eruption is the best color but it looks more like the selection circle than the model. Now add a Carbon Grey roof instead of the Black.

Pics don't do the Eruption green justice. Recently traded in my 21 BL Area 51 for a 23 BL Eruption green. It flashes green/ gold in the sunlight. Loving it and so is wife. She wasn't sure about this color when I ordered it.

It's the color of gray blue aliens that are secretly living in area 51.

Yeah, you've got the best color combo on any year Sport. I refuse to give up my '21 and about $5,600 (and a few lost features) to get it though. I prefer the black on the Cyber Orange, but the biggest advantage of C/G is how it shows swirls and spots so much less. Black on any car is a nightmare. Worse with all the interspersed plastic bits you have to keep the wax polish off of!

Aliens from another planet and/or solar system are referred to as "Grays" or "Greys."
Area 51 is just another gray color variant. Some people like the color, and some don't.
