Just got off the phone from a Ford Parts Dealer in Bartow,Florida. I had put in an online order for an engine cover and the 3 studs. A gentleman from the parts counter called to tell me that the engine cover is now obsolete !!! Ford wasn’t having anymore made, because it’s designed as an Insulator it was keeping the temperatures up in the engine bay, they (meaning Ford ) decided to not even make the covers anymore. He was calling me to cancel my order.

Those who have had one on for awhile...have you noticed any displays for engine temp warning?

And if it were severe enough (temps up in the engine bay), I'd think Ford would issue a TSB for those that got one at time of delivery that would have them (Ford) remove it.

2021 Badlands with engine cover and hood insulation. I prefer the cover basically for looks. Don't have to look at a big bowl of spaghetti.

Who really knows why they decided to stop production. I'd say mainly a cost cutting reason.

Temperature gauge has never moved past 1/2.

I bought one for my 22 OBX and installed it a while ago. probably 15,000 miles on it. No ill effects. No issues with temps. I also installed the hood insulation, and the passenger side footwell cover.

On my visits to India many of the high voltage transformers were at ground level with no protective fencing or signs. And many buildings were wired using the “Home Depot style” orange “extension cord” wires run on the outside of the buildings .. a rats nest since typically a few hundred orange “extension cord” wires are needed for the buildings lighting, outlets and appliances.

I personally like the no cover option on mine. I like the look of hoses, electrical, fuel lines, sensors and all. I guess I appreciate the engineering it takes to make the 3 cylinder. Im not against the cover totally, to me it looked rather cheap. If a aftermarket carbon fiber or one with a Bronco on it comes out I might rethink the cover option. Until then ill keep admiring that little beast of a engine when the hood is up.

A few weeks ago I was at my dealer and walked up to the parts guy to talk about missing parts for my 2022 Outer Banks,. A senior, 20 year, Ford parts counter guy told me there was no engine cover in the system for the 1.5L. He also could not find the hood insulator -- for "lower trims" like Outer Banks. They are "Ghosted". Any parts counter guy could not be expected to start talking about parts they can't find in the system

I am giving this guy major creds. When I insisted he was wrong (and placing my engine cover on the counter) he took my VIN and 30 seconds later presented the holy "DETAILED VEHICLE SPECIFICATION". I had asked the service desk when I took delivery to see it. Of course they shrugged and had never heard of it (making it a "legend"). Right on the screen it listed all the parts delivered and the code word they use to indicate it was not installed. He could not find the part number stamped on my 1.5L engine cover.

I think I saw these items:

C7SAA : LESS ENGINE COVER - UNDER HOOD
BHEAA : LESS INTR NOISE INSULATION

I ordered the trim under the dash and paid for it on the spot.
