Yeah, I guess I misread and overreacted.

Long story behind all that that I’d rather not get in to. My apologies.

I love love love washing my Sport by hand. It's a fun chore that gives me time to admire all the neat details on the vehicle and take pride in taking care of it.

Also nice to spend some time in shorts and a t-shirt just hanging out in the sun for a couple of hours.
So I used to.....but now I pick and choose......I don't wash anymore......but I clean, vac interior, and wax by hand still! and like you I really enjoy it! Then I call in sick on Monday cause my back is shot....I also get to work on my Tan........cause I am so sexy at 65 with my..........fill in the blank (LOL)

I am very picky about our cars. I run our daily drivers, Bronco Sport Badlands and Grand Cherokee Overland, through the "tunnel" carwash but I do a couple things to minimize paint damage. First, Keep it waxed. Whether it is the new SI04 Ceramic, polymer, or Old School carnauba, wax is protection. Second, pick the wash package with the most soap. Soap is not only a cleaner but a lubricant as well. Over time, I will still get light swirls but an hour with the DA polisher every couple years and they are gone. To me that is a more effective use of time on daily driven vehicles that you want to keep clean.

My 2021 Bl was ceramic coated before I took delivery. Hand wash only.

Why is it always lazy asses? Did you ever think maybe someone. Doesn’t have any legs or an ass even? Maybe they’re working 12 hour days, 6 days a week, and just don’t want to spend their day off washing a car while their family sits inside waiting for them. Maybe they live at an apartment and can’t wash at home.

Can we stop shaming people because they don’t want to do the stuff you want them to do? It’s how I broke a critical bolt in my last car. Shamed into fixing it myself.

We get enough of it everywhere already. Don’t drink sodas. Don’t eat chips. Don’t drink beer. Don’t go there. Don’t take that pill. But I guess that’s what you get living in the conservative south. ?

Living in Western Washington makes washing during the wet months pretty miserable. I use a drive through car wash, but only the Laser Wash type. No brushes, nothing slapping the paint or dragging crap against it. Nothing picked up from other vehicles. The place I use in California recycles the water. Unfortunately they charge for vacuums. The place in Washington includes vacuums with the wash. Both offer discounts for multiple washes.

I REALLY want to avoid Swirl marks but I work too hard during the week to use my off day to make myself tired again. I barely have time for Laundry. It's 20 bucks a month but I can wash it as many times as I want at any location.

I have started thinking about trading out for Laserwash but it's 12 miles away. The pollen here is absolutely Outrageous.

Ten doll hairs?! Damn! It’s $35 here. I’d probably wash it more than twice a year for $10. (But maybe not … the lazy card is strong in this one!)
That's crazy $35 for a car wash! Do they hand-make the soap ?
Were I'm at is also $10 and it does a pretty decent job.

I'm in North Carolina. I thought we held the record for pine pollen.

It would be worse if you saw me washing mine with my speedo on. :frown:
Don't be so hard on yourself, based on years of surfing the internet I would be willing to bet a tidy sum there are people out there who would pay to see that.
