I may get one in month #35.
I think I’m more likely going to trade in/up if mine still has all this resale value.
But we all should remember that they would not offer these extended warranties if there was not a substantial profit in doing so.
Ponder this on the, “Tree of Woe”
FWIW this subject was beat hard in a previous thread.
Starting to lust after a Maverick just a bit.
But I’ll wait another year or two so they can get the bugs out.
I want AWD hybrid that I can plug in.
They explained that to me. You will pay more than and the contract end will be the same as if you bought now. Buy a 8yr now and it's good until 2030. Buy and 8 yr in 3 years and it's good until 2030.

Exactly - if you are going to get it, no benefit to wait until the end of the window. It will be more expensive at that time.

If within 12 months, Granger Ford's seems to be the cheapest option.

I am seeing some way high prices in this thread. I think Zeigler ford is your best bet. I saw someone mention $2800 for 8 yrs/100k/$100. Same ford protect warranty from zeigler is $1640. I haven't purchased mine yet but I am going to do it just before my 1 year is up. They go up slightly after the first year of ownership. I purchased through them on my 2019 ranger. After I traded it in it was easy to cancel and they mailed the check really fast. I only put on about 7-8k a year so I am just going to do 7 years 60k which is $945. Use promo code PAYINFULL (and then pay in full) for $250 off.

I got the 7 year 150k mile from Granger. I drive it for work through all of Florida and rack the miles up. Like everyone has said it’s peace of mind if you can afford it and like that kind of thing. This breaks down to your finances in my opinion. Granger is offering the plans almost at cost so you can’t go wrong. If you’re in Florida you need to give them an address out of state.

Right but in the thirty fifth month I may decide to trade so I won’t buy the extra warranty until then because I’m still under the factory warranty.

Anxiously awaiting on Ford to build a Hybrid BS. . . . plug-in would depend on how the battery might extend the range compared to standard Hybrid. So far what I have read is only a 13 mile difference . . .

Some of my drives are about 8 miles round trip and some are 16 and my most regular are 34 round trip. But only the first two miles are under 30 mph.
Above 30 I think they all kick in the gas motor anyway so we shall see.
There are several times I stay on the mountain but am all over the roads doing cleanup and maintenance work. These times I’m never more than a mile from the house and never over 15 mph.
It would be kinda cool to Unplug and go do all my piddling around and never hear the gas motor kick in..

I have purchased the extended warranties on my last two or three vehicles. They have always paid off. The extended warranty on my used Ford Escape, vehicle before the Bronco, paid for itself because of the coolant and ac issues with that wonderful piece of engineering. The last vehicle before the Escape was a Cadillac SRX. Caddies do not have the best quality control when they are being built. The dashboard screen went out after the original warranty was up and the cost without the warranty to put another screen in would have been north of $5K (according to the dealer). The extended warranty wasn´t half that price. Other things in the SRX went out, as well, so that warranty was worth it.

I haven´t purchased the extended warranty on the Bronco, but I will before the deadline passes.

Bought mine right at end of first year from Granger (best price for genuine Ford warranty) for 8 yrs for these reasons:
1) only way dealer will provide ”free” loaner even during 3/36 warranty period
2) waaay too many expensive parts to not have some coverage
3) I live in CA and will NOT drive an electric car, so this is probably the last car I’ll buy. I’m 73+ and plan on driving this ‘til the end unless some CA idiot totals it for me

Whew! I was afraid we were going to start going down that bumpy road regarding buying Ford’s protect care from Dearborn or a Dealer like Granger. That got ugly fast. Glad everyone is being civil. Guess that “Banned” thing works.

My 6 month old badlands has 6300 miles, mostly due to a very long trip out west which is highly unusual for me. We usually take my wife's car on long trips. I am considering getting the Ford warranty from Grainger Ford for only 5 years/60,000 miles, as I will likely trade the car before then. The question is WHICH ONE... base, extra or premium?

I can get the Premium for 5 years, 60,000 miles for only $442 after using my Ford Pass points!

Whatever you do just make sure it's an exclusionary contract. The contract should essentially read, all mechanical components are covered except for what is listed in the exclusions list. It's not a warranty and it's never bumper to bumper. Ford has a good policy, and the loaner car is a good one. The coverage is no different than any other service contract. Ford won't just pay for every squeak, or rattle, the contract is very specific on what mechanical components are covered. The factory 3/36 is a warranty and even it has exclusions. A warranty is provided at no cost to the consumer from the manufacturer or in some cases from the dealership if they participate in a limited warranty program. Everything else is an Extended Service Contract.

I personally have an AGWS Compass auto service contract on my Focus RS. Platinum Exclusionary coverage for 72/125k. My contract is add-on coverage, the coverage started the day I purchased it. Some contracts will retro back to the original in-service date. So make sure you actually read the contract before signing and know what you are getting.

I have 52,000 miles on my 21 Big Bend, no need for an extended warranty.
